Here is my Entry for the Week 7 of TheInkWell Fiction Challenge Summer 2020.

In a remote area of Don Pedro, there is a family that is commonly feared by the townspeople because of its unique appearance. This family is the Socorro Family. The couple is Fernando and Melinda. Fernando had cat-like eyes while Melinda had a big lump in the back. Because of their strange appearance, they had a child who also had a strange appearance and it is Belindo. Belindo is 9 years old and seems to have acquired all of the unique features of his parents. He has cat-like eyes and has a big lump on the back.
Almost everyone in their town avoids them for fear of their appearance or for fear of being infected because the townspeople have already made up their minds that the whole family is sick.
Although they were avoided by the people, they continued to be humble and friendly to those they encountered.
One day as the couple were buying at the market, they noticed that everyone is gossiping about them but Fernando just said " Dear, don't mind them we've never done anything to them " but Melinda replied " I'm a little bit angry because every time was here in the market they keep on gossiping about us. " as if he were angry.
As the couple was about to leave, a man appeared drunk and asked them " Hey!!! What are you doing here? Hahaha " as if he could not stand well because of drunkenness. " Why don't you go invisible while buying here so we can't see you, ugly!!! Hahahaha " as the people around also laughed. So the couple left with sadness on their faces.
When they got home, Melinda cried when she was embracing her son Belindo, so Belindo asked her mother. " Mom, what happened to you, why are you crying? " As if he were crying also. " No kid, no problem just got my eyes dusted outside " Melinda replied. So Belindo wept as he embraced his mother. For a moment Melinda entered the room and continued to weep. Belindo asked his father, " Dad, what happened to Mom? Why is she crying? Huhuhu !!! " while crying. " No kid, let her go first, just take care of her !? and make her feel your love " Fernando replied. For a moment Belindo went to his mother in the room and there he hugged her again and said " I love you
Mama!!! " once kissed on the cheek and Melinda replied " I love you too my son!!! Mommy really loves you ” as she continued to cry.
The next morning Belindo came to school early because he didn't want to be late. As he was on the road near the school, a young boy approached who is also a child of a person who caused his mother cried.
He asked him, "Hey!!! You ugly!!!, where are you going?" You don't have to study with us, it is better for you to be invisible so we can't see you!!! Hahahah!!! " Belindo replied, " Don't be like Brando I didn't do anything bad to feel you bad ahh !!! " as if Belindo is angry. " Why? Do you want a fight on me hu?!? " Brando replied to Belindo. For a moment, their teacher saw them and stop them, " Brando, what are you doing to Belindo? " the teacher ask Brando. " No Ma'am, we're just playing right Belindo? " Is that correct Belindo? are you really playing Brando?, "*** " Ahh, yes Maam, we're just playing " Belindo replied. After that, they just go to school.
After class, Belindo hurried home, while Brando secretly followed him. Their house is just nearby so they walk the same way. When Belindo was near their house, he noticed smoke in a house near them and thought it was home to Brando. At first, he thought that Brando's house might be burning, " Ha?!? Brando's house might be burning " he said in his mind, " but why do I ask for help they are so mean to us?!?. " But after a while, he remember what his mother said. " Be kind to others even when they are not good to you, because every time you do that God will bless you. "
So when he remembers it, he suddenly goes to their house and calls her parents out and says " Mom, Dad, help there is fire!? ", " What are you talking about, son, what's the fire? Where's the fire? " asked Fernando. " From Brando's house, I have found smoke in their house. " So Fernando and his wife went to Brando's house carrying large buckets full of water and a hose to put out the fire.
Meanwhile, when Brando saw Belindo and his parents coming to their house, he wondered why they were there but as he got closer he could see smoke coming out of the fire in their house so he hurried away at their house.
Belindo and his parents continue to extinguish the fires that are gradually increasing as Brando approaches while crying. Brando calls his parents who probably slept because his father was a drunkard. " Papa, open the door, our house is on fire!!! " Brando shouted to his father but no one answered. In just a few hours, Brando's mother came home from work. " Brando, what happened to our house? Why is our house burning? ", " I don't know Ma, when I come home it was already burning. " " Eh, where's your daddy? " Asked Brando's mother while crying, " Well, Papa is still asleep, maybe it's because of drunkenness. "
For several minutes without Brando's father responding, Fernando insisted on entering the house and waking Brando's father to get out but his wife, Melinda, stopped him. " Love, don't go inside I'm afraid if something wrong happened with you?! " while crying, " But we have to help them, I have to wake him up and bring outside!!! " Fernando replied.
So Fernando took a blanket, put it with some water and wrapped himself and entered the house. But before he could get inside, he had to destroy the door because it was locked inside. As he enters, the house ceilings start to fall and he almost hits by it. Even so, he continued searching the room for Brando's father and when he saw it, he awoke it from so much intoxication that he could no longer hold himself. But as the fire was strong enough, the ceilings were falling and the fire was coming out, so Fernando began to panic when he suddenly saw that there was a window that they could pass out. So he broke it with the hardest thing he saw. The first to get out was Brando's father, but before Fernando could go outside he suddenly dropped to the ceiling in the room and hit his foot.
Even though Fernando groaned in pain, he still managed to get out of the burning house. When Melinda had seen Fernando on the side of the house with Brando's father, he ran alongside Belindo in tears. " Love, good thing nothing happened to you and you got Lando ". Belindo hugged his father while crying, " Papa, good to see that you two are safe ". As Brando and his mother approached and hugged his father and said " Daddy, you're fine, I thank God nothing happened with you!!! " while crying.
After a while, firefighters arrived to extinguish the fire and an Ambulance arrived to take Fernando to the Hospital and heal the wounds. Based on the investigation, a cigarette who was not properly disposed was the caused of a fire and maybe it was Brando's father uses it.
As Fernando was tend to put inside the Ambulance, Lando, Brando's father approached him to say thank you. " Fernando, thank you so much for helping and rescuing me, maybe if you didn't rescued me in my house who's currently burning, maybe I'm dead now.
" " Lando that is nothing, we should just help people who ask and need for help " Fernando replied.
A few days later, Fernando was out of the hospital and when he arrived at the house he saw Lando and the whole family with a little food ready for him while he saw that their crying at once " Fernando I will say again, many thank you so much for all you have done for me and our family ", " Lando that is nothing, so I say if anyone needs help I should always go to be helped them " Fernando replied. " I cannot never tell and think that whoever else I am fighting always and do something bad too is the one who helped me, so thank you very much ".
So since then, the two families have been best friends as well as Belindo and Brando.
That is an epic story, @godlovermel25. Sometimes it takes a very dramatic situation for people to appreciate others. It's sad that the family had to prove that they were worthy of love and respect, but I think that scenario plays out in various ways in real life. People who look "different" are often shunned before they are accepted. Good job with meeting the prompt requirements.
