I am competing in week 3 of The Ink Well Poetry Challenge (you can access its call and rules here), taking the two proposed thematic options: Beauty and Sad History, which I combine into a poem that plays with the intertextual.
The temptation of beauty
Aschenbach in front of the sunset,
the figure of Tadzio
in his worn-out pupil:
a young man made of light
like a god in exile
elusive impossible
Beautiful Venice
turned into a sad pest,
forgotten and smelly streets
The grief in the eyes
of the sick bystanders
Where does beauty dwell?
Aschenbach-Mann-Visconti:
the search for beauty
in the word in the picture
in death
the way to the spirit

Sencillamente genial, gracias por compartirlo,Saludos @josemalavem
Interesante asociación. La belleza es tentadora. Será por la capacidad de consolar, como en Muerte en Venecia..
