While you offer an explanation for the split character in the story, the reader is free to apply several interpretations. The one you offer has a valid scifi perspective. It might also be that a reader with a psychological bent would suggest Solomon invented this persona because it was needed. And, in the yet, he retired the persona because it was no longer needed.
To think he could achieve all this. He had given up but his alter ego saves him from wasting his life. I feel a lesson in this story I must take into my life is to not give up no matter what. Well written story

This is an interesting story. An individual cannot find the strength to be who he wants to be, and so an alter ego takes over.
