Abnormal times

The trolley handles were cleaned by a supermarket worker. They used a spray which smelled of alcohol but the same cloth was used repeatedly. That did not make sense to me. While in the supermarket an old man said to me,
“Young man, it would be wise to wear gloves. The trolleys are not clean enough.”
It felt as though he read my mind. I looked at him and smiled. He smiled back and left immediately. He wore a bright red mask with matching gloves. - @momogrow

SPEEKPEECE - STRANGER.

I feel warmth on my cheeks and it takes a moment to realize that I’m crying. She lightly brushes my cheeks, wiping the tears away. She’s crying too.
I nod. I nod my head because I feel a burst in my chest. Like a dam just broke.
“Thank you.”
I hear movement from the hallway at the same time Anna’s eyes widen a bit. I understand, I haven’t uttered a word in nearly three years if you consider the time I was in a coma.- @deraaa

Rivals or brothers

Allison was a blonde hair caramel skinned girl who played the violin and she got to meet the two brothers on different nights; Jacob at a concert and Isreal at a library.
When she met the two of them she made an impact because of how kind she was, but it wasn't until the brothers knew they both met her that their interest grew, for them, both of them meeting her and liking her meant that they had a new pawn to fight for and winning her heart meant one was superior.- @khaleesii

The children's mother told him:
"That mine has no more gold, your grandfather was crazy"
This incident did not change his mind and he continued on his way to the mine until he reached a small village where some villagers asked him while he was shopping.
"Where are you going, stranger?"
"I am the new owner of the mine"
The villagers looked at each other and said:
"That mine has no gold"
But he did not heed the warnings and went up the mine in search of gold.- @innfauno12

Life in the Swamp - A tale of fish, crabs and eels

image.png

Source

The crabs didn’t, so when the water levels reduced, they’d take up the cone-like trap filled with crabs and sometimes mudskippers alike.
The mudskippers caught would be used for peppered soup. The crabs are cooked with just water and when they turn red, become ready for eating either with balls of pounded yam dipped in the peppered soup or with fermented cassava.
I was very young when I tried crabs for the first time along with my cousins who were more eager to crack open the red shell revealing the white flesh underneath.
Nobody was taught how to eat crabs except me, my dad open a couple of crab shells to show the salty, and black fluid that was in the middle. - @buezor

Lost on the Ocean

"There should be search parties looking for us by now"Ella said with teary eyes.
Derek assured them that everything will be fine even though he was scared as well.
They waited for a miracle but none happened. Night fell again and they searched the boat for lights but none was found because there was no special provision made for the boat since it wasn't meant to travel far away from the harbor.
They survived the night by holding each other as they sat in a circle.- @george-dee
