One of the deception of the 21st century is what I call Social Media Fraud. This fraud isn't that of financial origin but of lifestyle most people live on social media.

If I'm not mistaking 80% of what we see on social media platforms are fake lifestyles and this has hampered some people from receiving help they needed in life to take them to the next level.

These fake lifestyles is more predominant to Africa and other low income countries. #Facebook, #instagram as well as #twitter have provided many with the platform of presenting themselves as who they naturally and originally isn't. Most people who claim to own limousine and other beautiful automobiles online barely eat 2 meals per day in their respective homes, but when they appear on instagram, you'll get depressed for not being able to afford such a lifestyle. It should be noted that many prospective homes have broken because spouse refused to understand the gimmicks of social media lifestyles.

With the aid of photoshop and other editing apps, people in Nigeria and other parts of the world can claim to be where they're not.

Does living fake lifestyles on social media pay?

I can't answer for everyone, but I think they best know why they live fake lifestyles. From my own point of view, is doesn't pay at all, it only reduces one's chances of being helped when the need arises in real life. Nobody wants to help a person that has more than him or herself.

Most own luxurious cars on social media platforms, but they distance they trek on a daily basis is more than 100km, who are they deceiving if not themselves.

My Advise
Truth meets truth in real life. I know a friend who many thought was working in a very big oil company in Nigeria because of his packaging dress code. One day a man asked him, how are you and work, he quickly said I'm not working at the moment and two weeks later he was handed an appointment letter in a multinational corporation. Just imagine if he lied about his working status, he would've missed the job opportunity.

Living a real life doesn't mean you should dress on rags, but it means you should show a level of moderation and do things on what you can afford.

I'm end by asking, how real are you on social media platforms.
