If you had to move to another country and start a new life, which country would you prefer and why?

Hypothetically speaking of course. In my case, I think Switzerland would be my choice although I would have to learn one of their languages. I would only consider countries that don't have the risk of suffering from political turmoil and totalitarian insurrections. Switzerland has a well-deserved reputation for being a free, peaceful, and stable nation.

However, I have always wondered if Switzerland would have been able to remain a free country if it wasn't for the American leadership after WW2. I doubt Switzerland would have been able to protect its freedom if the international order was established by totalitarians such as the national socialists from Germany or the socialist Soviets. Luckily, they weren't the ones in total control of Europe so little countries like Switzerland were able to remain free and prosperous.

What about you, if you had to move to another country and start a new life, which country would you prefer, and why?

Sort:

I think it would be New Zealand, an end of the world rural paradise! Mountainsides... But a touch cold!

I would love to move to Canada. Reason...I have a lot of friends over there. I feel it is one of the most beautiful and peaceful country in the world.

Also, not very expensive to live as compared to other well developed countries.

I think it would be Sweden (and I'm seriously thinking about that ahah)

Probably Japan. Shit works and the foods great, people are polite and I just really dig it.
