Meditating in the newly discovered crystal cave at Rishikesh Yoga Ashram

in The Man Cave2 years ago

The sun rose over Rishikesh as a misty vista enveloped this holy city. The arid heat was approaching and another day had begun. This morning I meditated in a cave discovered by Yogi Amitram in his Earthship Yoga Ashram. He discovered it after a dream directed him to its location, and after a few days of digging they discovered a beautiful crystalline rock cave, 42 feet long with beautiful stalagmite formations and a very otherworldly atmosphere. This cave is a gift to those who wish to go deeper and tune their vibrations to the harmonics of mother earth.

The crystals that form the rocks in this cave are made of Apophyllite. This natural crystal just 'happens to be' very conducive to meditation. Apophyllite is a striking group of crystals that come in a variation of colours. The shape and layout of these crystals look like many pyramid-like prisms stacked on top of and around one another. The apophyllite crystal structure consists of many layers, this is what gives it its pearly sheen and unique shape. It has a fascinating history and many unexpected uses. It is said to be a crystal that raises your vibration and assists your masculine and feminine energies in finding balance and harmony with each other. Apophyllite is a highly intuitive stone and is often used to increase awareness and ignite your intuition. There are numerous benefits of these incredible crystals. They are known to be a powerful way to become spiritually uplifted and bring a sense of oneness to their owner. It is said that apophyllite crystals can cleanse your auric field and manifest intense clearing of negativity in your body. It can send pure light energy and high vibrational cleansing pulsing through you. If you are someone who is struggling with energy blocks, negative energy in your home or workplace, stress, anxiety or feelings of overwhelm then we highly recommend apophyllite. Apophyllite is also said to connect you with your angels and guides, bringing you ever closer to the angelic realm. (source).

How amazing that this cave was not only discovered just as it was envisioned, but also that it is made of just the kind of crystal that makes it the perfect place to meditate. I was reading @markwhittam 's recent post on frequency, and it seemed quite relevant to these crystal rocks that must radiate and filter the vibrations to shift the frequency in the space within. You can feel it in the air, and just sitting and spending quiet time inside it feels like it is also re-tuning those who sit within it.

As i entered the cave i felt an immediate change, something like when you deep sea dive and everything seems different. The temperature was cool and i could not hear the wind or the outside world. The cave enveloped me and suddenly i became aware of a sound in my mind that had been there all along and yet strangely enough i had never noticed. It was like a high pitched noise, with several tones and as i noticed it, it became louder and more pronounced. How strange that i have been living with this for i don’t know how long and never noticed it. Perhaps its just tinnitus, or perhaps it is the frequency of my mind, i do not know but i just listened as i lit a oil lamp and sat for 40 minutes, legs crossed and just breathed.

Meditation is my daily practice and has been for around three years on a daily basis. I have wanted to meditate daily for 25 years and yet it was only after a powerful yoga nidra session that this discipline finally became a part of my daily life. Those who do meditate know the value of this quiet and special time, a time to just breathe, observe, concentrate, and experience ourselves when there are no distractions and just our own minds and body to feel into. The practice is to observe and let go. Thoughts always arise, but during meditation we do not hold onto them, no need to follow them, just let each though go and come back to our breath. It is so simple, and yet transforms us from being victims our thoughts and distracted by them into the master of our minds, calm and centred. It takes effort to do nothing, only because we are so used to the desires of our conscious will, but as we let go deeper and deeper we discover what lies behind the veil of desire and the illusionary world that we are so used to.

It was a beautiful experience as the world felt further away than ever as i sat in this womb of nature. It held me, nurtured me, and helped me to re-tune to a different rhythm for the day that lies ahead. The time went quickly and soon enough my timer bell rang and i opened my eyes. I gazed at the beautiful formations of white crystal stone, with stalagmites that formed over many hundreds or thousands of years. How special it is today to be one of the first humans to be experiencing this special spot, held secret and safe until the time was right and mother earth revealed it to Yogi Amitram in his dream. Who can say why these things happen, but this is his gift and I think him for sharing it with me and with whoever is ready to be here and experience it.

Meditation is the great need of our minds. It's only when we learn to quieten the ripples and waves of our turbulent thoughts that we can see what is revealed in the stillness. It's like a pond whose waters are still, only then can we see our reflection clearly. Meditation is the key to unlocking our true nature, the path to feeling true joy and happiness without having to do anything, acquire anything, or to be anything else. Once we discover this great inner joy that is always there but hidden we start to experience life in a different light. It is only after meditation that i have been able to just sit and watch the world through the eyes of stillness, and in those moments everything is just perfect just as it is, the desire to go here and there is gone, the need to accomplish and do things has dissolved.. and just being is enough.

To be held and enfolded by Mother Earth like that is such strong healing magic. Beautiful.

Something that is beyond science - spirituality.

Wow great!! I should try that....

What a wonderful place! It must be quite powerful. I've been interested in meditating in a cave for a prolonged period of time, in total darkness is possible too. I can only imagine how profound that experience must be!

yes i can see why.. it is something altogether different from normal meditation.. the weird thing is i have discovered i have tinnitus.. and i have NO idea how long ive had it for.. it makes it a bit harder to meditate as its quite loud when im in the cave.. but i have managed to do the 30 minutes at least!

hope you find your cave sometime soon!

What a perfect place for meditation. The pictures are beautiful. Thanks for sharing
