Appropriately Named Painting ..
Given that is where I got my inspiration from. I have been eating Halo's for as long as I can remember. I pack them in my lunches everyday and usually eat two because they are so small. Sometimes they taste fantastic! While other times I just want to throw them at a wall, they taste so bad. Why is that? Not the throwing at the wall part, but rather why do they range in flavor so much sometimes? No clue.
This piece is digital.. meaning I sketched it using a program called Sketchbook. I can open my pad up on my lunch hour and kill off some stress. It's a fun way to reset my brain from all of that thinking. hehe. AND I am creating art which I love doing.
Here is my victim.. A Halo, or maybe a Cutie.. not sure now. Sometimes I buy Cuties too.. OH BOY! Did I name this incorrectly??? hahaha.. Who cares, right? Here's the Halo/Cutie that I drew the inspiration from. I took a few photos of it for reference.
This shot below is the one I used for my reference photo. I put this up on my laptop monitor and drew about what I saw. I did change it up a little bit, but now wish I kept the hard table line, rather than my typical straight across line, I tend to use all of the time.
The finished drawing.. took about 2 weeks to arrive at. I spent 5 or 10 minutes a day messing with it. I started with blocky designs and bold colors, then slowly blended and worked in a few other shades along the way.
I also decided to go a little bold on the shadowing and added a bright purple like color to create a different look.
Some of the strokes I used could be considered lazy, but I just didn't want to get real detailed with this painting. I like the chunky line styles on occasion. It may look like a Childs finger painting, but if you just stand back a little from it, it doesn't look all that bad. I have seen the style used before by other artists and wanted to give it a whirl.
The details of the actual fruit are minimal too. I think the hardest part is choosing the right shades of color, but that gets easier after a while too. Practice, practice and more practice helps!
So there we have it..* Halo! Another finished digital art piece. No show stopper, but I like it. I also like Halos :-) Yummmmmm....

For me art requires love, honesty and perseverance. In return, it reveals some personal, non-analyzable, and creative untamed passion. For the public, art with its magnificent beauty, improves mood and health and builds better human beings and communities. It engages the intellect, softens the heart, strengthens the soul and frees the spirit.

Hmm, Halo's are intriguing, you can never be so sure of their taste. Some look great on the outside but taste ugggh Horrible! lol, I would love to hear people muse on about how weird or intriguing that is.
Nice piece of art, what matters is I think that you actually got it finished and didn't let it be just an idea. With practice you will for sure one day produce a stopper!
Working on my skills! What more can we do, right? How about those little fruits??!! They can even smell awesome and taste like complete crap. I really have given up on wondering why this is. One of life's great mysteries I suppose 😆
Lol, a very subtle mystery, we somehow never even stop to consider such things. Ooh yeah, there is nothing else you can do, except work on your craft, basically, define and craft the life you wanna lead, doing what really matters to you.

While i love the artwork the picture of Molly sniffing that basket of goodies is priceless. I'm sure she is like "so, what did you get me?" This is the same way Nadi views anything that I bring home as well.
Hahaha.. Yeah, that's Pepper. Molly was most likely a half mile away from that basket. hehe. Pepper was eyeing up that yellow peep. He was like "That's Mine Fools! And anyone who lay's a finger on it is toast!!" 😆

Nice job! I totally get you about sometimes wanting to throw them at the wall. It seems like Winter is the best season for them and that is when they are best. The thing that drives me crazy is sometimes they have seeds and sometimes they don't. What is up with that. When they are good, they are so so good, when they are bad... Blech!
Yeah! I always consider taking them back to the store, because they will take them back, but I never do. Total waste of money sometimes. But I guess I like the gamble of it. hehe. Yes.. no clue about the seeds. I forgot about that one. Thanks for mentioning it!! 😆 😁

I tried to get all aspects of life in one post. hehe. We get most of our Mandarins or Clementine's from California under the name of either Cutie's or Halo's. Re-name it and re-brand it.. the American way I guess. hehe

I've been wanting to learn digital art for sometime. I love this one except for the bright purple shadows, personally I would have liked a darker hue, but that is just me.
I so love the concept, still art digitally. Gots to try this sometime.
WHAT??!!!! You DON'T like the purple???? 😂 Just kidding. To be honest, I'm on the fence with it too. I thought why not try something different. I think if there was more of that awkward color choice going on throughout the painting, instead of just in the shadows, then it may not be as stark. I may mess with it a bit more.. after all it's digital! Let me know if you really try something like this 😁
