Uno de los casos interesantes de ilustrar es que a la hora de hacerlo podemos aplicar diferentes técnicas para representar lo que vamos a retratar, cada una tiene su truco, y hay que aprenderlo, con el tiempo la práctica constante dará sus frutos.
El puntillismo es una de esas técnicas en las que se requiere paciencia para conseguir buenos resultados, cuanto más tiempo se le dedique, mejores acabados se obtendrán, todo está en la habilidad y el esfuerzo que se ponga.
En esta oportunidad decidí usar la mencionada técnica para ilustrar la foto que tengo de perfil en Hive, el cual es un retrato de mi persona. Decidí hacerlo porque me parecía gratificante tener mi autorretrato y la verdad me agrado mucho la fotografía.

One of the interesting cases of illustrating is that at the time of doing it we can apply different techniques to represent what we are going to portray, each one has its trick, and it is necessary to learn it, with time the constant practice will give its fruits.
Pointillism is one of those techniques in which patience is required to achieve good results, the more time is dedicated to it, the better finishes will be obtained, everything is in the ability and the effort that is put.
This time I decided to use the mentioned technique to illustrate my profile picture in Hive, which is a portrait of me. I decided to do it because I found it gratifying to have my self-portrait and I really liked the picture.

Como en la mayoría de mis ilustraciones use la cuadricula para dibujar la estructura del rostro, así puedo ubicar mejor sus proporciones. Para realizar este trabajo me tome un mes entero la verdad, le dedicaba media hora más o menos, habían días donde ni siquiera me sentaba a terminarlo o por lo menos a adelantar algo.
As in most of my illustrations I used the grid to draw the structure of the face, so I can better locate its proportions. It took me a whole month to do this work, I dedicated half an hour or so to it, there were days where I didn't even sit down to finish it or at least to advance something.
Para colocar punto por punto utilice un rotulador de punta fina llamado Uni-ball II y tome una hoja opalina formato carta para hacer la ilustración. Ya había trabajado con esta técnica, sin embargo, debo admitir que esta última obra se me hizo un poco tediosa, tal vez por la cantidad de puntos que lleva.
To place dot by dot use a fine tip marker called Uni-ball II and take an opaline sheet in letter format to make the illustration. I had already worked with this technique, however, I must admit that this last work was a bit tedious, perhaps because of the amount of stitches involved.
Normalmente la gente que tiene poco conocimiento del tema cree que uno coloca los puntos al azar, superponiendo uno sobre otro sin parar, y sí, es cierto que se colocan al azar, pero hay que ver con habilidad dónde creemos que es conveniente colocar el punto, teniendo en cuenta que cuanto más añadimos al espacio más se oscurece la zona.
Usually people who have little knowledge of the subject believe that one places dots at random, superimposing one on top of another without stopping, and yes, it is true that they are placed randomly, but we must skillfully see where we believe it is convenient to place the dot, taking into account that the more we add to the space the darker the area becomes.
Para estas cosas hay que ser muy detallista, tal vez no para llegar a la perfección, pero sí para observar cuidadosamente lo que vamos a hacer, otra cosa que se necesita es la dedicación, fundamental en cualquier trabajo.
For these things you have to be very detailed, maybe not to reach the point of perfection, but to carefully observe what we are going to do, another thing that is needed is dedication, fundamental in any work.
