A Random Oldie Portrait

in Sketchbook3 years ago

Hi guys,
I've been working on a particular portrait for a while now, I actually thought I'd finished it but going through my gallery yesterday, what my eyes were seeing lacked certain depths and features. So before I decide, before I pull out my pencils once again I felt I should test run an idea. So, the sketch I'll be sharing with you today is a little bit similar although simpler compared to that, but still similar. This work is open for criticism and appreciation, Thanks in advance.

I first came across today's sketch while going through some aged bearded photos a few months back, I spotted a portrait of a man with a very rugged face. You could easily tell that time hasn't been in anyway good to him. I couldn't help myself from wanting to trace those rugged contours on paper so I gave in and hours later, I arrived at today's sketch. Here you have it;
