Today I want to share with you my recent drawing which I titled Akanke. Akanke is a Yoruba name which means “Lovable at first sight”. I decided to make drawings to describe the meaning of Yoruba names. These names are beautiful with lovely meaning and it’s sad that people no longer bear them. With these drawings I wish people will see their beauty and start adopting them back. This particular drawing show a beautiful lady with a wide smile on her face and with beautiful Afro hair packed in two places. I made everything about her beautiful, from her hair, to her smiling face, to her earrings, to her posture and her rich melanin skin such that people will see her and fall inlove with her. By that, fulfilling the meaning of her name.
This drawing was made on procreate with the help of my Apple pen.
