LA VIDA EN CUATRO ETAPAS by Abelardo Gómez INSPIRACIÓN [ENG] - [ESP]

Hello hive community! Today I bring you my first post, the drawings are based on acrylic paints and taking as canvas a common sheet of paper. Initially I took a graphite pencil and using the technique of lace I could make what would be the skeleton of my drawing, that is, the base of the ground, the trunk and branches, outline and add thickness in some parts. After that I started with the brush and to play with the paints; note that although there is a lot of green and brown, I could mix and experiment until I got different shades that would adapt harmoniously to what each tree represents in the drawing. Of course, I could not miss the black and white, which although not found in great measure, could give a better finish in terms of shadows and relief to this drawing.

The title of the work is due to what each part fundamentally represents, and it is the change that a certain organism (in this case a tree) undergoes with the arrival of each season. Initially we have the spring, which derived from Latin means "first greenery", this induces us to the birth, the beginning of a life that is not only limited to its development, but to the vivid experiences that holds the life that lies before his eyes. When I made this drawing I thought about how wonderful is the growth of a plant, to be able to see each leaf bud turn green as vivid as the light that illuminates it, and then move on to the beautiful pink flowers that accompany this painting. Spring teaches us that life is a long way to go, and that even though we are getting older, we will always have a young soul to accompany us.

Following this is summer, which means "spring time", and although there are physiological changes, it is still linked to spring. It is considered the longest time of the year and that is why many tend to appreciate it more than usual, because it allows them to create experiences that will be transmitted to each following generation, even to continue cultivating them within the same social group. When making this painting, I focused on the shades of green that a summer tree can offer, somewhat more intense than the previous one, because it indicates maturity of the leaves, arrival of most of the fruits, net or spontaneous growth that allows the intense development of light and with it a great shadow located in the evergreen foot of the plants. It expresses luxuriance and elegance as it is widely majestic.

The third drawing is allusive to the autumn season, which in Latin means "late", since during the development of mankind and due to the various changes offered by nature, before there were only the summer and winter seasons, later annexing the autumn by various climatic metamorphoses. The autumn implies the deciduous, that is to say, the fall of the leaves after a change of coloration imparted by the decrease of the temperatures. This tells us that there is a molting, a change that we cannot turn back from, and that we must accept no matter what. In making this painting, I focused on the characteristic orange of the autumn leaves, at the base of the tree, you can see some dry branches that induce the arrival of the next season, and the brown of the trunk a little opaque that makes it seem that the woody parts are preparing for the cold that comes next.

Finally, we have the drawing of the winter tree, representing of course the winter, Latinized its meaning as "frost" or "cold". Winter is what symbolizes the last stage of the four seasons, the stage in which many prefer to spend their time with their families; a stage in which nature is intended to be abrupt and difficult for many species, turning the life of different organisms into decadence. In making this drawing I wanted to represent through the leafless branches, darkened by the humidity of the freezing breeze that whips the vegetation, how difficult life can be at times, and how late this difficulty becomes. However, there is an intermediary, which in this drawing is represented by snow; snow which is a physical state of water, the water that is life in all its forms. Snow is beautiful and described in this drawing by a gradient of white with relief and frosted gel. The snow in this drawing shows us that there is a moment between despair, which allows to give light to the end of the difficulty, the same that will melt with the passing of time to give rise to a new spring beginning.finally, we have the drawing of the winter tree, representing of course the winter, Latinized its meaning as "frost" or "cold".
