These last few weeks, my girlfriend and I have been working on creating the foundations of a story. It’s something we had always wanted to do, but we never managed to give it a shape that convinced us—until now. We finally did it; even though we still have a lot left to develop, at least we now have a place to start.
We created a couple of characters, and for this beginning, we focused more on the structure of the universe where everything will take place. I’d love to talk more about that later, once our ideas are more complete.
For now, we know we want a story with eerie tones, set in a dark environment, an underground world, with a lot of science fiction and a bit of fantasy. We are taking a lot of inspiration from Made in Abyss, but we want to make something much darker.
Our goal is to turn this into a video game, since I also enjoy programming and composing music. We believe it’s the best medium to combine everything we love, both artistically and technically. We want this to be a long-term project; I’ll be sharing more in the future. Right now we have a bunch of concept art and pages and pages of writing that I want to show you once they’re a bit more polished.
We plan to work on this a lot now that school break is coming. For now, I’m showing you this drawing of our characters. The adult woman is named Leah, and the little girl still doesn’t have a name. She produces light from her body. This scene is one we imagined as the beginning of what will be shown in the story, Leah is walking with the little girl after finding her in this "abyss".

Estas últimas semanas, mi novia y yo hemos estado trabajando en crear las bases de una historia. Es algo que siempre habíamos querido hacer, pero nunca terminábamos de darle una forma que nos convenciera. Finalmente lo logramos; aunque aún nos falta muchísimo por desarrollar, ya tenemos por dónde empezar.
Creamos un par de personajes y, en este comienzo, nos centramos más en la estructura del universo donde ocurrirá todo. Me encantará hablarles de eso más tarde, cuando tengamos más completas las ideas.
Por el momento sabemos que queremos una historia con tintes tétricos, que se desarrolle en un ambiente oscuro, un subsuelo, con mucha ciencia ficción y un poco de fantasía. Nos estamos inspirando mucho en Made in Abyss, pero queremos hacer algo mucho más oscuro.
Apuntamos a crear un videojuego sobre esto, ya que también me gusta programar y componer música. Creemos que es el mejor medio para mezclar todo lo que nos gusta, tanto en lo artístico como en lo técnico. Queremos que sea un proyecto a muy largo plazo; les estaré compartiendo más cosas en el futuro. Ahora mismo tenemos un montón de artes conceptuales y páginas y páginas de escritura que quiero enseñarles en cuanto estén un poco más pulidas.
Tenemos la intención de trabajar mucho en esto ahora que ya habrá receso en la escuela. Por el momento les enseño este dibujo de nuestros personajes. La mujer adulta se llama Leah, y la niña aún no tiene nombre. Ella produce iluminación desde su cuerpo. Esta es una escena que pensamos para ser el comienzo de lo que se mostrará en la historia, Leah camina con la niña después de encontrarla en este "abismo".
