Today is May 4th, Starwars Day and to be honest, we had nothing ready to publish today, nor did we have much time to do so. However we focused only one hour and this GIF came out and as fast as we did we will explain how we did it in just a few screenshots.
Hoy 4 de Mayo es el Día de Star Wars y siendo sinceros hoy no teniamos nada preparado para publicar, ni tampoco teniamos demasiado tiempo para hacerlo. Sin embargo nos enfocamos solo una hora salió este GIF y tan rapido como lo hicimos explicaremos como lo hicimos en solo algunos screenshots.
First, a proper dark background to give a deep space looking with our business, logo because this went out today in our social media accounts.
Primero, un fondo oscuro apropiado para dar un aspecto de espacio profundo, con el logo de nuestro negocio porque esto salió hoy en nuestras cuentas de medios sociales.
Second, we have a stock of 3D rendered octopus tentacles that we always use for what we need, to this we put the classic lightsaber of the movies using just a clipping mask.
Segundo, tenemos un stock de tentaculos de pulpo renderizados en 3D que siempre usamos para lo que necesitemos, a ste le colocamos el clásico sable laser de las peliculas usando solo una máscara de recorte.
Third, we brightened the laser using a blur mode, a couple of color layers and other layers of white, all with different blur levels for the brightness effect.
Tercero, le dimos brillo al sable usando un modo de desenfoque, un par de capas de color y otras capas de blanco, todas con diferentes niveles de desnfoque para el efecto de brillo.
Fourth, a bit of color retouching in the tentacle adding the reflection of light from the laser and the shadows that the light would generate.
Cuarto, un poco de retoque de color en el tentaculo de pulpo agregando el reflejo de luz proveniente del laser y las sombras que la luz generaría.
Fifth, and finally, a little more light reflection behind the tentacle that we achieve with a couple of layers of colour and white with the same blurring effect used previously in the laser.
Quinto, y para finalizar, un poco más de reflejo de luz detrás del tentáculo que logramos con un par de capas de color y de blanco con el mismo efecto de desenfoque usado anteriormente en el laser.
You're wondering, where did we leave the blue sword?
Well, that's the last trick up our sleeve for the final result of the GIF, it's something that came premeditated from before we started, we used the color red to start the design because we know that the opposite color of red in the color circle is bright blue, so we just had to have the red image ready to go to the red layers and invert them.
Te preguntarás, ¿Donde dejamos el sable azul?
Bueno, ese es el último truco debajo de nuestra manga para el resultado final del GIF, es algo que vino premeditado desde antes de empezar, usamos el color rojo para empezar el diseño porque sabemos que el color opuesto del rojo en el circulo cromático es el azul brillante, asi que solo nos bastó con tener lista la imagen en color rojo para ir a las capas roja e invertirlas.
Finally we exported the two images (red and blue) separately and in another Photoshop file. We modified a little bit the brightness and contrast values in several different layers that we converted into a checkered animation, just about 14 frames that repeat to create the brightness and color change effect of this lightsaber in the best Star Wars style.
Finalmente exportamos las dos imagenes (roja y azul) de manera separada y en otro archivo de Photoshop. Modificamos un poco los valores de brillo y contraste en varias capas diferentes que convertimos en una animacion a cuadros, a penas unos 14 cuadros que se repiten para crear el efecto de brillo y cambio de color de este sable laser al mejor estilo de Star Wars.
And BOOM! There you have it!
