Hey y'all, it's been a while, huh. These days were more hectic than normal so I didn't have time to take a seat and start sketching. Life's like this...
Well, in the previous post I tried for the first time drawing on black paper. It turned out that I really enjoyed it. So to avoid a jealousy crisis among my cats because of the last drawing, I decided to draw all of them in this style.
Sooo... Here she is! This is Galopeira, my oldest cat. She's an affectionate girl, but also extremely jealous and not a big fan of her younger siblings (as her expression suggests).

Bien, en la publicación anterior intenté por primera vez dibujar en papel negro. Resultó que me gustó muchísimo. Entonces, para evitar una crisis de celos entre mis gatos debido al último dibujo, decidí dibujarlos a todos en este estilo.Entonces... Aquí está ella! Esta es Galopeira, mi gata mayor. Es una chica cariñosa, pero también extremadamente celosa y no es una gran fan de sus hermanos menores (como sugiere su expresión).
Process
Well, this time I was a bit more used to the texture and the pigments behavior on the paper. The green pigments was way easier to apply than the yellow ones from the previous drawing – but the white white fur was hella difficult to reach the right tone.
As I did last time, I used white and light grey Faber castell watercolor pencils for the greyish fur and white gel marker for the eyes' light points. As I said, the white fur was a challenge – it took more time than expected to reach the brightest white tone.
That made me think about using a dermatograph or white charcoal pencils next time. I still don't know what kind of pigment I should use on this type of paper, what do you think? Let me know in the comments.
The paper used was an A5 180 g/m² black paper from Canson color series.
Bien, esta vez yo estaba un poco más acostumbrada a la textura y al comportamiento de los pigmentos en el papel. Los pigmentos verdes fueron mucho más fáciles de aplicar que los amarillos del dibujo anterior, pero el pelaje blanco blanco fue muy difícil de alcanzar el tono correcto.
Como hice la última vez, utilicé lápices acuarelables Faber castell de color blanco y gris claro para el pelaje grisáceo y rotulador en gel blanco para los puntos de luz de los ojos. Como dije, el pelaje blanco fue un desafío: tomó más tiempo del esperado alcanzar el tono blanco más brillante.
Eso me hizo pensar en usar un lápiz dermatógrafo o de carbón blanco la próxima vez. Aún no sé qué tipo de pigmento debería usar en este tipo de papel, qué pensás? Házmelo saber en los comentarios.
El papel utilizado fue un papel negro A5 180 g/m² de la serie Canson colors.
