Venimos con todo para la tercera edición de Las canciones imperdibles, y con eso quiero decir que voy apurado a contrarreloj (culpa a mi terrible rutina semanal) a traerles música genial que quizá no hayan escuchado. Después de todo finalmente hoy es viernes, ¿y qué mejor forma de armar un playlist para el fin de semana que con lanzamientos frescos como el outfit 10/10 que te lanzas para distraerte en casa?
En esta ocasión nos fuimos al lado bien under (pero no tanto, tranquilos), llegando a meter artistas que aún no tienen ni muchos views en YouTube, y siendo un poco más eclécticos que de costumbre, en fin, pura música de calidad.

We give all we got for our third edition of The songs you can’t miss, and with that I mean that I run against time (blame my terrible weekly routine) to bring you cool music that maybe you haven’t heard. After all today it is finally Friday, and what better way to make a playlist for the weekend that with releases almost as fresh as that 10/10 outfit you wear to distract yourself at home?
This time we went for a more underground feel (but not that much, chill), getting to put artists that still don’t have a lot of viewers in YouTube yet, and being a little more eclectic that we’re used to, anyway, it’s pure quality music.

PUERTOAZUL - AIRE MARFIL

Desde que sacó su EP Azar Incandescente el año pasado, Puertoazul sigue confirmándose con este nuevo sencillo como uno de los proyectos más interesantes en salir de la escena emergente venezolana, un tema dramático pero que no pierde poder en sus melodías pegajosas con el teclado y sus frases precisas, respaldadas por sonidos de percusión tribal. Mejor no le puede quedar el término «pop incierto».
Ever since he released his EP Azar Incandescente last year, Puertoazul keeps proving himself with this new single as one of the most interesting projects to come from the upcoming venezuelan music scene. This is a dramatic song that doesn’t lose the grip in the catchy melodies of its keyboard and the accuracy of its lyrics. The term «uncertain pop» fits him like a glove.
BED SCENE — HONEYMOON
Nos vamos a Florida junto a la banda Bed Scene para que nos hablen sobre una luna de miel que ya no se dará, entre otras cosas. Tirando de elementos del new wave y dream pop, con un coro que pega como un puñal, es un gran tema para dejar atrás el dolor y cansancio de una espera.
We go to Florida along with the band Bed Scene so they can talk and sing to us about a honeymoon that it won’t happen, besides other things. Taking elements from New Wave and Dream Pop and all put together with a chorus that hits hard, it is a great song to leave behind the pain and tiredness of waiting.
POOLSHAKE — HELL IN MY MIND
Mi primera impresión del single de Poolshake fue «QUÉ». Si Thomas Mars de Phoenix quisiera cantar y escribirle un tema a The 1975, este sería el resultado: puro pop moderno con elementos indie para abarcar bien muchos escuchas y una letra con facilidad para quedarse en la mente. Hell in my mind es lo primero que he escuchado de ellos, pero si se mantienen por esa senda, tarde o temprano llega un hit de verano (Si es que este ya no lo es, quizá sí).
My first impression about Poolshake’s single was «WHAT». If Thomas Mars from Phoenix wanted to write and sing a track along with The 1975, this would be the outcome, pure current pop with indie elements to get many listeners as possible and lyrics with enough skill to stay in your head. Hell in my mind is the first thing I’ve heard made by them, but if they stay in that lane, sooner or later they’ll have a hit for the summer (in case that this isn’t one already).
SUEI — EL AÑO EMPEZÓ MAL
Considerado como uno de los artistas más prometedores de la movida de la música urbana en Venezuela, Suei nos recuerda con su tema que 2020 ha sido un año bien rudo y nada amable tal cual como la relación rota que la letra de la canción narra, haciéndole compañía a un beat relajado y tranquilo que en este caso representa el opuesto a las líricas.
Considered as one of the most promising artists of the urban music scene in Venezuela, Suei remind us with this track that 2020 has been a tough year for all of us, just like the broken relationship that the song’s lyrics speaks of, making company to a relaxed and chill beat that in this case represents the complete opposite to the lyrics.
METRONOMY — THE LIGHT

La banda inglesa con mayor sabor tropical en los últimos años cierra nuestra lista esta vez, estrenando vídeo para su sencillo The Light, siendo un paseo surreal por la playa y otros escenarios con estética VHS casi que dañada, como si lo vieras desde un televisor que necesita ser arreglado. Una canción con un bajo muy provocativo y que destaca constantemente, puro sabor y oscuridad.
The english band with most tropical flavor in the last few years close our list this time, doing the video premiere for their single The Light, consisting of a surreal walk on the beach and other places with an VHS aesthetic almost damaged, like seeing it on a TV screen that needs to be fixed. This is a song that has a very provocative bass, which stands out constantly, pure flavor and darkness.
