This is one of those cool initiatives that not many seem to be aware of looking at the people who do get involved are often the same ones, so I figured a good time to make a new post letting people know how it works and how they can participate.
Steps:
- If you see a great post that's underrewarded but not older than 6-12 hours, you take the link and share it on twitter with the #hive tag
- @poshtoken will leave a comment under the shared post with your tweet, you copy the link to the comment and go to @ocd to find the latest "OCD POSH Curation Compilation" post such as this one (you can see others sharing their poshtoken links there)
- You drop your poshtoken comment link with a description to the post you are nominating
That's it, but before you nominate here are some general rules
- post can't be older than 12 hours at the time of you nominating it
- post's content has to be something @ocd would normally curate, here's a list of exceptions: Political, Religious, Drama, Controversial and Cryptocurrency or Technical Analysis content
- post can't be your own and consistent nomination trading between accounts is also frowned upon, look for new authors and content that's underrewarded but also keep an eye that it's not plagiarism or suspicious accounts
The cool thing about this is that not only can you get the post some curation and help retention of users by rewarding underrewarded content, but you can receive some rewards for your nomination through @poshtoken as well. This way you're not incentivized to cheat by trying to just nominate your friends and have them nominate you back in circles, but you can earn some rewards by taking time to look for great posts and nominate them.
Here it's important to also make sure when you share the post on Twitter, not only to check that you tag #hive so @poshtoken picks up your tweet, but to also be registered with the bot on hiveposh.com and to make sure you add other relevant tags about the post so it gets as big of a reach as possible. That's what usually gets rewarded the most and as you can see from these transactions some do pretty well for a few shares per day.
Here you can see that if you aren't registered on hiveposh.com then @poshtoken won't know who to send rewards to as it doesn't know which Hive user the Twitter account that shared the post belongs to so it sends it to hive.fund, be aware that voting on these comments yourself when you are the one who shared them will also not send you the rewards as it counts as self-voting:
If you have any issues signing up for hiveposh.com let us know and we'll look into it, so far there's 2483 registered Hive users who've linked their Twitter to their Hive accounts and growing. You can check daily new registrations in the @poshtoken posts which the rewards are used to only evolve the project to support the Hive ecosystem.

Well I think it's great, every day I come across excellent publications with few rewards, so it's good to know that there is the option to support in the curation and retention of users with the posh initiative. Count me in!

I didn't use it either for the first 10 years or so, only started to grow the hive presence there and it's a good time to start now since you can get a lot of followers from your hive relationships to give you a kick.

On the other hand, to finish, I was recently reviewing the use of social networks on Web2 and I found that although the Twitter network has several million users, it turns out that it is quite in the queue, below many other social networks According to the graph I was consulting at the time, it caught my attention that the social network that headed the list of millions of active users per day was Facebook, so I am curious if they have not thought of expanding the bot so that it can be linked with the spread (or advertising) of Hive posts is Facebook.

How much of spam/shitposts do you get on average?
I had a look at the latest curation post linked above and it looked like pretty decent content.
Why the 12h limit? Are OCD curators strictly limited to vote on post no older than 24h?
Not strictly, we do curate posts after 24h as well from time to time but doing so too much will just punish our delegators and trailers curation rewards due to the new rules where votes cast after 24h get part of their CR to go to those who voted before 24h.
It's not too much spam and the nominations of course still go through curators first before a decision to vote the posts or the poshtoken comments. Just feels like it's usually the same people doing it so it'd be nice to see an increase in participants and hopefully it's not too difficult to figure out how to.
Yeah, that makes sense. And good to know that excellent content is not excluded just to preserve curation rewards.
Yeah we wouldn't go that far, and we also take a low fee compared to some other projects so delegator's won't mind especially knowing our activity may increase the value of their stake rather than just focusing on maximizing apy.
