Hello friends of the Hive community, today I will share with you my review from Dale Carnegie's book, which I enjoyed reading it on quarantine. Honestly, I did not expect the book affected positively. Well, without further ado, let's talk about the book.
Do you know how to speak effectively?
If your answer is NO, then this book is perfect for you. There are certain questions that we regularly ask ourselves when we have to talk about something or give a speech. Some of the questions could be: How do I start the speech? What am I going to talk about? How will I convey a clear and direct message? How to keep people's attention?
How can we deliver an effective message in an easier way to a group of people?
Start the talk by talking about something personal. When one talks about things with which you are familiar, the talk will be more fluid and the nerves that are normally felt at the beginning will decrease. It has been proven that starting by talking about one of your personal stories catches the audience's interest. For example, you can talk about your childhood and the way you were educated, your area of knowledge, your hobbies, or some unusual experience that only happened to you.
Make sure you are enthusiastic about the topic you are going to talk about. The enthusiasm you feel will be transmitted to your audience. If you are not interested in talking about something, that is what you will communicate. At this point, the key is you believe that the message you want to convey is essential to the people who are listening to you.
Don't try to imitate others, be yourself. Perhaps you have a speaker that you admire, that likes the way that he expresses or the sympathy she has with people. Don't become the mold of that person, develop your style.
Take every opportunity to practice. Find every opportunity you can to speak in public. Join a club where there are high chances to speak for other people. You can also develop your skills on the job by giving instructions clearly and concisely to your employees.
The author emphasizes that it is important to persist when we want to learn to speak in public, and it is because this type of learning is staggered, that is, that we are going to find moments when we will feel that we are not making progress. However, it is all a matter of practice. Many people are afraid to speak in public, but it is because we are not used to it.

Hola amigos de la comunidad de Hive, siguiendo con la temática de mi blog, hoy les quiero compartir la reseña personal de un libro que me ha gustado mucho, la verdad no esperaba que el libro sobre como hablar eficazmente impactara tanto en mi vida. Bueno, sin más preámbulos, hablemos del libro.
¿Sabes hablar de manera eficaz?
Si la respuesta es NO entonces este libro es perfecto para usted. Hay ciertas preguntas que regularmente nos planteamos cuando tenemos que hablar sobre algún tema o dar un discurso. Algunas de las preguntas serían: ¿cómo inicio el discurso? ¿sobre qué voy a hablar? ¿cómo transmitiré un mensaje claro y directo? ¿cómo mantener la atención de las personas?
En mi trabajo he puesto en práctica varios de los consejos del libro que ahora les quiero compartir y que en mi experiencia puedo afirmar que me han funcionado.
¿Cómo podemos dar un mensaje eficaz de una manera más fácil a un grupo de personas?
Comience la charla hablando sobre algo personal. Cuando uno habla de cosas con las que estás familiarizado la charla será más fluida y los nervios que normalmente se sienten al inicio disminuirán. Se ha comprobado que empezar hablando sobre una de sus historias personales atrapa el interés del auditorio. Por ejemplo, puede hablar de su infancia y de la manera en cómo lo educaron, de su área de conocimiento, de sus aficiones o de alguna experiencia poco común que solo a usted le haya sucedido.
Asegúrese de que siente entusiasmo por el tema del que va a hablar. El entusiasmo que usted sienta se transmitirá a su auditorio. Si a usted no le interesa hablar de algo eso es lo que transmitirá. En este punto es clave que usted piense que el mensaje que quiere transmitir es importante para las personas que lo están escuchando.
No trate de imitar a otros, sea usted mismo. Tal vez usted tenga a un orador que admire, que le guste la forma en cómo se expresa o la simpatía que tiene con las personas. No se convierta en el molde de esa persona, desarrolle su propio estilo.
Aproveche toda oportunidad para practicar. Busque toda oportunidad que le sea posible para hablar en público. Asóciese a un club donde se presente la oportunidad de hablar para otras personas. También puede desarrollar sus habilidades en su trabajo dando instrucciones en un lenguaje claro y conciso a sus empleados.
El autor enfatiza en que es importante persistir cuando queremos aprender a hablar en público y es precisamente porque este tipo de aprendizaje es escalonado, es decir, que vamos a encontrar momentos en los que sentiremos que no avanzamos. Sin embargo, todo es cuestión de práctica. A muchas personas nos da miedo hablar en público, pero es solo porque no estamos acostumbrados a ello.
He descrito unos pocos consejos, pero si está pensando en mejorar su estrategia para hablar en público lo invito a leer este libro.
