Abuse Report: A Pakistani Fake Accounts & AI Art Farm

in OCDlast year

I don't know where to start with this, so let's begin with a random account from the group. Meet @hiratahir, a young girl from Pakistan who was onboarded in late March this year by her "good" friend of five years. You can read her intro post for more info.

She seems to have an interest in creative arts like drawing, jewellery making, and occasionally cooking. She likes drawing and sketching this much that her second post was this little piece of hand-drawn artwork of a doll.

Here are some of the steps she showed while making that artwork.

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

Now, I want you to focus on the line art. Because she's about to surprise us all with her rapid improvements in that skill.

Let me show you the post she shared just a week after the one above.

Wow! I'm impressed with how much her skills improved in a week. Or perhaps this is because she used a digital medium this time.

If you look at this post carefully, observing each step, you'll get the whole story (though I'll be skipping a few steps).

1743265777991.jpg1743265804338.jpg1743265828882.jpg1743265914347.jpg1743265967235.jpg1743265986854.jpg

There are so many things indicating this wasn't drawn by the same author without the help of assistive tools:

  • No reference picture mentioned or sourced.

  • Line art starts from facial features in the digital artwork, while in the hand-drawn one, they're the last to be drawn. (I'd draw those details last too, unless I was just tracing from somewhere and knew the exact proportions.)

  • Notice the gaps in the hair in step 2; the lines stop exactly where the horns and other features will be drawn. This kind of precision is only possible if you're tracing the line art one-to-one.

  • Notice the coloring process as well; the artist makes the tiniest details in the eyes, like reflections and shadows, before moving on to color the base. If you're creating artwork with little to no reference, you'd never do shadows and reflections before laying down the base colors.

Let's assume she improved her skills a lot and became a better artist. But now look at this hand drawn artwork she shared just a week ago on her blog.

The above image is the finished artwork, too. Tell me, do you think they were created by the same person? Notice the line art in this hand-drawn piece: its strokes are nowhere as smooth and naturally flowing as they were in the digital artwork. Notice the details in the eyes. Very detailed...huh?

This time, she did share her "inspiration," which was a picture from Pinterest. It was more like an almost copy-and-paste of the artwork with minimal changes, but that's a grey area I don't want to delve into.

All I'm saying is these hand-drawn artworks are the real deal, but the digital ones were most likely generated by some tool, likely AI, especially the line art, and then traced over.

Now let's talk about the serious part: the fake identity.

She's using the following profile picture:

image.pngimage.png

Which is stolen from a random clothing store's post on Pinterest.

She's made 30 posts but has only 18 comments—a strong indication of a fake alt account. Most of those comments are generic, like "Thank you" or "My entry to the Splinterlands contest."

Now, imagine the same behaviour from over 30 accounts, most of which were created in the last six months. The latest one was just created a few days ago.

But she claims she is living in Sri Lanka, but has never shared a single picture of the places or the outside. Always doing the same as the others, which are posting in HiveLearners, DIY Hub, Holozing (before she got Muted there), Jewellery, and Alien Art. • Same Memo with two other accounts in the group. One of them wasn't even onboarded by her, which was a massive breakthrough in this story.

Having multiple accounts isn't easy to maintain, so mistakes like this happen when you reply to someone without switching accounts.

Maybe @livinguktaiwan forgot about this one, but the blockchain remembers everything forever. She was asking @mahi4567, but got a reply from @ayatnoor8090—the very account @mahi4567 onboarded and sent HBD to. How interesting! https://peakd.com/hive-174578/@mahi4567/introduction-myself

I have so many more examples that you'd get bored. So, let me first show you the entire web of how everyone in this network is connected.

It was a complicated web, so I had to create a relationship chart to illustrate who onboarded whom and if they sent money to each other or a common memo. Hopefully, the chart isn't confusing; I did my best to fit most of the information into one neat visualisation.

The Connections

Relationships.jpg
Click here for better quality image

(Editors on Hive are making it too blurry, so I had to upload it to a third-party file hoster.)

I could keep going with more examples, mentioning each account individually and showing you the source of their profile picture from the internet, their similar interests, their obsession with easy-to-make DIY bracelets and jewellery, their digital artworks, the similar tags, and so much more. But that would be a 20,000-word post, and nobody wants to read something that long. Honestly, I'm too lazy to do all of it. Instead, I'll highlight some of the more important accounts later, along with a few accounts that have slightly different content. But first, let me break down that chart for you.

  • @girlinveil isn't connected to anyone on the chart because she has no introduction post and no mention of any onboarder. Also, that account hasn't transferred any funds yet. Her profile picture is taken from a popular Pinterest post, just like most of the others in this group. She also shares the same type of content as the rest, including those perfect line arts and odd steps for creating artwork. Who in their right mind draws a detailed ribcage before drawing a much easier coat?

  • The group consisting of @mahi4567, @ayatnoor8090, @iqrarani, @parishy1232, and @afia3344 appears disconnected from the others. However, they're not. Members from these two groups constantly upvote and comment only on each other's posts, sending welcome messages on intro posts. Most importantly, they engage in the same activities as almost everyone else in the larger group: using fake profile pictures, sharing posts in specific art communities, seeking easy upvotes, creating similar digital artwork, and common things like DIY jewellery.

I was surprised no one had found this connection yet, despite so many commonalities.

  • The oldest accounts in this web are @ukrajpoot and @hadianoor. @ukrajpoot's blog used to be full of writing on various topics (many of which looked AI-generated), but it has now mostly shifted to creating and sharing artworks. Splinterlands being splinterlands will give you enough easy upvotes to keep going.

He was downvoted by @themarkymark in the past for creating artwork by tracing Splinterlands cards, simply changing colors, and calling it a work of art. Post here

It's evident from his post that he can't draw; he can just fill in some basic colors. His account also has the least similar content to the rest of the group, and no fake profile either. But, of course, he's part of this abuse, too. He has common memos with his onboardee, @aesthatimahi, who is an active abuser from this group.

Also, he was caught with machine-generated content. I am not sure why @hivewatchers didn't follow up and take any action. Link

The only two accounts with personal blogs and activities that indicate they aren't fake or alt accounts are the oldest ones: @ukrajpoot and @hadianoor. While @ukrajpoot doesn't seem like a creative person to engage in art and crafts, @hadianoor is the perfect candidate. Among all the accounts in the group, she was the one who started sharing these artworks, doodles, and DIY projects as early as March 2024, when only @ukrajpoot was active on the chain.

My theory, which might be incorrect but is based on all the evidence I've seen, is that @hadianoor was the first one to figure out how to get better curation. At first, she started with written posts, but within months, she began experimenting and seeing better rewards for posts with hand-drawn artwork and small DIY projects. Combined with her fine knowledge of drawing and painting, she started using AI to generate unique characters and references that she simply traced over to achieve good results. Probably seeing this, @ukrajpoot experimented with similar content, but it didn't go as well for him, as there were some downvotes because he was just tracing characters and changing colors.

That might have prompted him to create an alt account, @aesthatimahi, with @hadianoor's help. While the HIVE earned from @aesthatimahi went mostly to @ukrajpoot, @hadianoor benefited from her other alts.

I don't think running these many accounts is possible for just two people. I think @hadianoor onboarded some of her friends or family members and taught them the rules of the game. Whatever the case may be, one thing is clear that these accounts are involved in a massive art fraud and have been deceiving communities for months. Many of those accounts are ignored from curations in major communities, but not all.

One more interesting thing about @hadianoor: You can see I didn't mark her as "Fake profile" in my chart. That's because all her Discord and on-chain engagements seem to point to a real identity. But when I dug a bit deeper into her supposed Facebook account, I saw posts dating back 13 years ago. This makes me think the profile picture or the identity she's using is fake, too. Her introduction post on Hive states she was only 19 years old in January 2024. Are you saying she's been posting on Facebook since she was 9 years old?!

Here is the link to that FB account.

Allow me to share the links to all the accounts I found online whose identities were fabricated and used by this group.

This massive influx of fabricated content, stolen or fake identities, and coordinated behaviour—marked by strikingly similar writing styles and interlinked activity—is more than enough to expose the ongoing abuse. And these are only the accounts we’ve identified; there may very well be others operating similarly under the radar.

This kind of behaviour is being empowered by unchecked curation practices across multiple communities, particularly in Hive Learners and by certain Pakistani curators. Such blind support only enables this system to grow stronger.

Stolen content and identity misuse are the very antithesis of what this platform stands for. I urge all stakeholders and curators to immediately blacklist these accounts. You’re encouraged to conduct your own investigations—don’t just take my word for it. I’m just an ordinary user who’s had enough of this manipulation and couldn’t stay silent anymore.

Here is the list of all the accounts I've identified as part of this group. There might be more, so please feel free to suggest any usernames you suspect belong to the same network.

@aesthatimahi, @afia3344, @ainna, @aizalatif, @anusheyahmad, @ashirabdullah, @ayatnoor8090, @azhabmoheed, @baharayy, @fatmabutt, @fizamahrin, @girlinveil, @hadianoor, @hiratahir, @humda, @iqrarani, @kashfa123, @maheenashna, @mahi4567, @manisharajpoot, @mirhaeman1, @moonmahi, @muneebwaleed, @niya57829, @noorchaudhary, @parveenn, @qantasadat, @seharnoshin, @toobaa, @ukrajpoot, @zeeniyanoor

I will also mention some community curators so you get aware of this scam group. @lazy-panda @holozing, @zingtoken, @hivepakistan, @pandex, @splinterlands, @steemmonsters, @bdvoter, @eceny, @diyhub, @dlmmqb, @solumviz, @nkemakonam89, @gwajnberg, @bhattg, @castleberry

Special thanks to those who assisted me in uncovering more accounts.

Sort:

Regarding the tree you mentioned, do you have information about their relationships with each other? Some are from the same village, some are neighbors, and some are students of a specific teacher. I’ve seen the faces of a few or heard their voices.

You marked a few profiles in red, and I might be connected to them or behind their activities (for catching them).

Sometimes I overlook the activity of certain accounts because they create new alternate accounts as soon as I catch them. I wait until they start receiving curator support before taking action against them.

The similarity in their art is due to the same Hiver teaching them digital art. There’s more to this story than what’s in the memos.

Regarding the profiles, it’s common for Pakistani girls not to use their own photos. This isn’t always about stealing someone’s identity; they often use other images to avoid showing their faces, as many Pakistani Muslim girls do for cultural or religious reasons.

I’m waiting to hear from a specific Hiver before sharing more details about this case. I won’t share further information on-chain. Please contact me using an anonymous discord account and send a memo with 0.001 HIVE to verify it’s you. Once I’ve gathered more data, I’ll share additional information with you.

But when I dug a bit deeper into her supposed Facebook account, I saw posts dating back 13 years ago. This makes me think the profile picture or the identity she's using is fake, too. To understand the context, you need to know Pakistani culture. I’m not referring to cheating or scamming. The account in question might belong to her mom or dad. In Pakistan, children under 18, especially girls, often don’t have access to their own Facebook or WhatsApp accounts. In many cases, a parent’s account is used, and the girl may have permission to use it. I’ll wait for Hadia’s reply on this matter.

A small talk with Pakistanis,

First of all, let them handle it. You don't have to become their parent.

Regarding the relationship, I already said in my post, it seems like more than 2 people. Please read it again, carefully. Whatever their relationship to someone else, stealing identities, and/or artworks from online sources without even mentioning references, using AI to draw your artwork are all things this community stands against.

it’s common for Pakistani girls not to use their own photos.

If you knew they were using a fake profile, why didn't you tell them? Pretending to be someone else on the internet and stealing someone's identity is a crime. Last I checked, it is a crime in Pakistan too.

The account in question might belong to her mom or dad.

There are 19 such accounts with stolen identities that I have shared in my post with links. You are saying all of them are using their mom's and dad's accounts? Really? In most cases, those accounts are young girls, not their parents.

Interestingly, two of the accounts even used the picture from a single Instagram account, too, pretending to be two different people.

Please re-read the post and click on all the links provided.

Please contact me using an anonymous Discord account and send a memo with 0.001 HIVE to verify it’s you. Once I’ve gathered more data, I’ll share additional information with you.

Very funny. I don't report to anyone. I am not gonna bother creating a Discord account to talk to someone on Discord. We have an immutable blockchain that can be used for the very exact purpose.

They can use photos of themselves with hidden faces instead of stealing photos of others.

None of the accounts were blacklisted but the verification requests were sent to each.

It is very strange that all accounts have the same artistic skills.

Same pattern.

@aniqa-k is the sister of keyden.

These weren't active or have had very few posts. I didn't want to dilute my report with such accounts. I had a few more like these.

You seem to know these accounts closely. What else do you know about them?

You seem to know these accounts closely

I don't know them personally. This was the information they shared in one way or another.

What else do you know about them?

Nothing specific comes to mind at the moment (except one IMPORTANT detail about @ashirabdullah, which I will share in encrypted memo after I get 0.001 hive), but if you have any questions, I'll try to find the information for you.

It seems strange that a person makes a new account and then he starts involving in someone's matter and starts collecting proofs against them and says he doesn't know them directly.

Ahh let me think who you are..., though i have already left ecency and i don't have much to time to waste over clearing the mess people had created using my name still i tried my best.

My 90% of blogs were all genuine and good in quality and i have spent a great time here and most of the people had great connections with me. Still I'm not sure who you're but this makes me sad that someone who knows me tried to talk against me, i never thought i had so many enemies here

But that's totally fine, i had great time here, and got to learn lots of new things, i never wanted to leave this platform like this, i have always tried to be a good member of hive community.

Well it's okay, life never goes as we plan.

Good bye,

10% posts is still a big number here. Good thing that you admitted it after a long resistance and denial period.

Then i must say you need to reduce num to 5% because i had alot of different content tooo

5% of 260 posts is still 13 posts. What are those posts. 1 or 2 posts can be considered a mistake by not tens of them.

What 'bad' things you did, can you tell us all?

Wow, this is crazy. Your blogs are one of the few blogs on hive I genuinely enjoy reading. It takes lots and lots of time and effort to be able to discover this many abusers in one swoop. The evidence looks strong enough to suggest they're guilty, but it'll be interesting to see their next line of action.

@ayatnoor8090

Why did you comment and delete your comment within minutes? You have some explaining to do.

image.png

How did it get corrupted by you? Why would you give your 'corrupted' account to your cousin and friend? LOL

And

@hadianoor

You did the same, too. You did add that comment later as part of a bigger comment, but your friend never came back.

@hivewatchers, please note, even their deleting comments behaviour is the same.

Bro i was writing my comment and then i have accidentally hit the reply button though i still had alot left to discuss why would i let my half comment stays under your post? Are you this dumb that you haven't seen that the upper comment was half? Now you're just applying false assumptions on me, i don't know why 🤌

Sis, re-read what I said. Maybe try a translator if you don't get it.

"You did add that comment later as part of a bigger comment,"

It is interesting how only a few of you come to defend it. This happens with all the multi-account scams I have caught.

Assalamu Alaikum
I had made a comment earlier but I felt that my words might not be believed, so I deleted that comment. However, if you have read my message, I have admitted my mistake in it.
I admit that I made a mistake, I created multiple accounts unknowingly. Actually, my cousin asked me to create an account for him, on which I created an account for him. All those accounts were not for my personal use. I am only using the "Ait Noor" account myself.
Now I have also clearly forbidden my cousin and sister not to use those accounts anymore, and they have accepted my words.
I am sorry that despite my comment, my words may not have been understood correctly and I am being downvoted, which I deeply regret.
I humbly request that this account of mine be removed from the blacklist. I promise that such a mistake will not happen again in the future.
As for the profile picture, I apologize for posting my personal picture but I will remove it or replace it with a picture of a hand or some other appropriate picture.
Please give me a chance, it would be very kind of you.😭
Jazak Allah Khair.

You brought down the whole frickin' village 🤣🤣
Well done! 👍

Good catch, I missed that, and great analysis.

Thank you!

So many accounts i think the most interest part that is a very red flag is the use of profile pictures using random pictures found in pintinterest and instagram. Indeed there is a similar way of posting as well…

The similarity in artwork is because of @hadianoor teaching digital art to others.

Can u confirm this? @hadianoor? Or they r learning on their own?

If they are learning on their own, then it is a lot of coincidence. Regardless of it, they are all engaged in bad activities.

Yes i have taught them about Ibispaints X . But this never means i have taught them scam too.

A very nice comment, you shared a lot with us.

Excuse me will you please like to tell me that which of mine post is AI generated.I always mention the source if I have taken idea from somewhere else and my profile picture is not from any other platform and I have mentioned my identity in my Introduction post so will you please tell me that what is fake in it???

I always mention the source if I have taken idea from somewhere else

No, you did not.

image.png

https://peakd.com/hive-153850/@baharayy/mandala-art-or-creative-sunday

This was my first post after introduction and I didn't know that you have to mention source then community head have mentioned it and from next time I start to mention it.

Most of the people do this mistake first time it doesn't mean that the content is fake or AI generated.

To be fair, your account didn't have any digital artwork yet. Maybe because you are very new. But your onboarder and other direct and indirect connections have put you in a very rough spot.

Btw, remind me...your intro post doesn't have any pictures taken from the internet?

image.png

As I have said I didn't know about mentioning the source before my first post(after intro) so it was by mistake not intentionally.

Hi @anonyi

Excellent breakdown.

I will have a look.

"ukrajpoot" was not blacklisted because apparently did not use AI-generated text

  1. Not sure why some communities consider onboarding by a group of buddies or alleged family members as legit onboarding.
The onboarding should only be accepted when it is done by a legitimate and established Hiveian.

  2. All these account with fake images of someone else are identity decepetion so whould be automatically blacklisted.

  3. This seems to me like a typical art deception-fraud that has been around since 2016. Mostly between Nigerian and Pakistani users (there are WhatsApp and Telegram groups where ways of abusing Hive are shared).
Before this fraud was done by taking a random image and running it through the app that creates fake drawing steps for that image. In the above case, it seems to me that the image is generated by AI and then run through that app.

I got the list from the botton of your post and will blacklist them.
I sent you a reward.

"ukrajpoot" was not blacklisted because apparently did not use AI-generated text

Okay. I saw the interaction between you and him on a post. But fine, if it is not the case.

  • Looks like some of them found easy curation projects and tags. For example, #creative-sunday from HiveLearners. They give out relatively easy upvotes to even unverified users from their communities. What's the point of verifying users when you are not gonna use it for curation?

Many of the accounts on this list have used it a lot. Look at this week's list and tell me how many of them are Hive Learner verified. https://peakd.com/trending/creative-sunday

Thank you for the rewards!

They give out relatively easy upvotes to even unverified users from their communities.

These verifications are for #hl-exclusive tag, not for #creative-sunday but your feedback is noted and shared with HL staff.

Thanks for your feedback! ☺️

This is not fraud

So convenient how your artwork starts with a few perfectly drawn hand sketches, and that GIF never showed how you drew them. They were just teleported there magically. You are exposing yourself more with these.

@hivewatchers, do you see how in those first few frames those sketches appear magically like they were transported to this software? While the colouring and other stuff are done fairly in this case?

They're most likely using AI generators to create artwork for reference, then generating different line arts that give the impression of sketches. The coloring is probably based on those generated reference images.

Now again this is not fraud

That's OK. Your account and the others have been asked to verify via legitimate, established social media.

btw @anonyi

Account "noorchaudhary" was blacklisted recently for failed ID and "aizalatif" was blacklisted in December 2024.

It is the other way around "noorchaudhary" was blacklisted a while ago which I mentioned in my chart, but "aizalatif" was blacklisted recently for failed ID. That chart was made few days ago so I couldn't update it there.

View in Better Quality

That's what most of them are doing. Some are better at copying than others.

What I can do is just laugh on such ridiculous assumptions and aspersions. I have been flagged “red” this flagging has already discouraged the writer inside saying my content as “machine generated “ which surely isn’t. Many users believe that one who uses formal tone in his writings is using AI to write their content. I am not writing for year or two . It’s been 6 year blogging journey. I guess it’s a personal attack and grudge rather than any professional rectification. Well to @hivewatchers, I have clarified my stance two times. It would be a shame to use AI for writing blogs for a person like me who is writing fir years and loves to write and I don’t even give a shit to what someone says in grudge.

Regarding sharing memos, I didn’t know that it is illegal to help a hive user who onboarded due to your name in withdrawals. Well seriously no justification to one whose theory is based totally on assumptions. Is it illegal for individuals of same family to use hive by their respective name?
Is it ilegal to try to try quality blogs on hive like we find in medium?

You are very sincere. Care to explain why you have similar style artworks? Did you learn from them or teach them?

image.pngimage.png
image.png
image.pngimage.png

I love the fact that you exactly knew where the Lines would end and where they would begin. Where the next character features will be with pinpoint precision. This is not how to make any artwork.

@hivewatchers do you see the similarities?

Is learning or teaching something from a fellow hivian is a sin or against the policy?
Secondly its not actually how I knew where the lines wil end, it’s like I complete my character first and then go backward marking hints about where to start line or where to end it so that I could upload neat pictures.

Learning or teaching to deceive the community is a sin in my book.

I complete my character first and then go backward marking hints about where to start line or where to end it so that I could upload neat pictures.

You are not blacklisted and you verified your account, but if any of the accounts that you onboarded are found to be fake then you may take responsibility.

Well i can guide people who are onboarded by me . It’s my utmost duty to aware them about rules. But if they violate, its their personal fault. The country punishes the immigrant who does crime not the airlines who bring them.

About me , I am sure about my writings and my sincerely to platform. That is why even after 4 years despite not getting big curators ,I am still here supporting and loving the platform

If you still think i have done fraud so do whatever you want, I'm just an artist🤌

Here's another YouTube video of mine that i have made for my friend, and due to large size i was not able to send her this on discord and i had to post this on my YouTube,

God has his own plans, though I'm not so perfect but i make my arts on my own...

Ok so let me clear this show me an evidence where i write that iam showing my own profile as a muslims we are not allowed so we just didnt post our own picture and the all other pictures are real and not fake everything other then a profile photo is real and as a iam a new user iwas not aware of this that we have to post our own picture

Also, your second post was written with the help of AI. Link

Bro iam saying the same thing i took profile picture from google but only profile pictures the other things i didnt take any other picture from any other platform.

@anonyi, I paid out 1.767 HIVE and 0.339 HBD to reward 3 comments in this discussion thread.

Well you have called me master mind of all this, i have just helped other by on-boarding them to hive this never means i have taught them to do cheating. I have tried my best to help them learn hive but I'm not aware about what kind of things they are involved in recently.

So Regarding all other accounts, i just want to say yes i have onborded some of these accounts but the rest of users, i Don't know about them.

At this point i just want to talk about myself, For my dp i have just taken this from google and i have never claimed that this is my own picture. I have shared my pictures in hidden face in my introduction and others too.

And the thing about suddenly started posting about arts, so you have already digged alot and you must know that i love sketching and doing arts, it wasn't a sudden decision. When i joined hive noone helped me about exploring communities and it take me 3 months to find perfect communities for me as an artist...

And you are saying my stories are almost Ai genenerated do you have any evidence, i have worked on uptrennd for almost a year and i have a great grip on writing stories, though i stop sharing stories, its my personal matter. But this never means that my stories are Ai generated and fake. Yeah i had made mistakes in image source and other minior mistakes but inkwell community moderator has already helped me to fix that.

About my arts i want to say that i never traced them directly, lemme share a picture of rough sketch from my arts, is is so difficult for someone who is quite good at sketches to make these simple outlining on my own?
