The emptiness in me sings
___________________________

The emptiness in me sings;
what lips of livid light
to innocent ears do bring
a fable of fell fright.

And all about the air
illusional couplets ring—
O dance, ethereal pairs;
O twine in coloured smoke.

O complements, dissolve;
imprisoning bounds revoke
to vapor, now resolve
the emptiness in my throat
that sings and does not cease
on feathering air to float,
suspended 'til at least
my migratory flight
comes arcing to a lull—
where balmy soul alights
and sinks into the full.

What lays of livid light!
The emptiness in me sings
in embering of the night;
in darkling spirit-rings.

Sort:

If the emptiness in you sings this beautifully... I wonder what the passion in you would sound like 😉

suspended 'til at least

I'd love to hear that song again. This is again one of those poems that leaves me speachless.

There is still some inside you that keeps you from going off the Deep end.

I love the repitition in

What lays of livid light!
The emptiness in me sings

You quite or sort of brought the refrain into limelight and emphasised on it, this is by far one of the most simple in understanding and simple in structure of any of your poems and I love the Images created as well.awesome piece here. Wow.

Sometimes we smile, despite the volcano hitting inside! Sometimes we are a branch falling in the middle of nowhere, free, mobile, ethereal.
