My house is a bloody mess!!

in OCD4 years ago

First time back in my house in Nairobi after four or so months, and I opened the door to what looks like a quarry.

Dust on the seats, should probably have covered them in hindsight, dust on my throw pillows and matte coffee table.

Look at this coat of fine dust.

My word!

I know it hasn't rained in the capital for a couple of weeks but this filth is way too much.

I wonder just how much dust is under the carpet?

I am probably habouring dust mites in my seats and it is just a matter of time before they latch onto me and have me itching uncontrollably.

The bedroom surprisingly looks pristine, just as I left it.

My thinking is that the dust is probably seeping underneath the main door and the door to the balcony.

There is no other explanation.

The clean-up job will be quite involving. There is no doubt about that.

Fortunately, I am just passing through as I pick up a couple of warm clothes that I left behind.

It has been extremely cold lately over at the farm.

When I eventually get back, hopefully in a month or so, I will have to get professional help.

Steam clean the seat cushions and throw pillows. Scrub the life out of every inch of the floor tiles as well as clean the doors and windows.

This place has got to be spottless and smelling fresh before I settle back into my home and pick up where I left off before the Rona disrupted everything.

It is eerie just how something so small, microscopic, can do so much damage in peoples' lives.

So many people have moved out of my apartment block. Dead silent, naked windows: a testament to the financial struggle of the people who inhabited those homes.

We can only hope a vaccine becomes readily available as soon as possible so people can pick up what is left of their lives.

... I miss the night life ffs!
