Dapplr: First time using the app and impressions.

in OCD4 years ago (edited)

I have to say, I was slightly pessimistic about the Dapplr team, partly because the work was not open source and the only proof of the app were regular video uploads and screenshots from their main account.

Still that for me was not enough for me to trust them and support their proposal for funding from the DAO.

Boy was I wrong?

The Dapplr team has achieved an incredible whole lot without any funding from the DAO and this should convince those who have not paid any attention to their work to atleast go over to the proposal and make sure it is funded.

Why?

It is Functional and Beautiful.

Once you log into the app, you can already tell that a lot of work really went into the aesthetics.

Not only do you get a smooth and cool modern feel, you also have the option of using up to 16 different themes as well as a light and dark mode.

You are spoiled for choices.

It feels Fast and Smooth.

I have already tried posting a couple of comments on posts and I can report back that it feels like posting from a conventional app.

I believe that is what they were going for.

Using Web3 alternatives should never feel bottlenecked. The experience should be similar or even better to drag people away from what they are already used to.

It can only get Better.

Dapplr are looking to add Private Messaging, Community Creation and Proposal Management, all which are things critically missing from the current available applications.

For me, the ability to manage your community on the go is a must have. Since the days of Steem we have been having an ongoing discussion about engagement.

The biggest huddle has always been accessibility.

How many people use Hive mobile applications on the go to post content or to engage with posts written by other authors?

How many of those are able to access their favorite communities?

Not many, I would imagine.

This app changes a lot of that and with the help of Alpha testers reporting the kinks and bugs, the app will offer a mainstream experience for the casual and veteran in the crypto space.
