His nickname was Motoneta, perhaps he was called that because of his speed or the way he ran after and with the ball.
Motoneta had been an exceptional footballer, never playing in big teams outside his country or his home state, however, he stood out in the teams where he played because of his great ability and vision.
He didn't score many goals but he was very combative, collaborative and intuitive, he assimilated perfectly the way to play football as a team.
On the day of his retirement, at the end of his farewell match as an active player, he was approached by a journalist for an interview. The broadcast was live and direct for local television.
To Motoneta's right his 3 children and to his left his wife, after some questions about the game and his feelings about quitting, the journalist asks him:
-Motoneta, if you had to choose between football and your wife who would you choose
Motoneta, looks sideways at his wife and almost immediately, without hesitation and with a glow in the
eyes respond:
-If I had to choose, no doubt! -Soccer, of course.
-And what do you think, madam? The journalist, addressing Motoneta's wife.
The lady with the face of circumstance, takes her husband's hand and says:
-That's his passion and no one will take it away from him.

Su apodo era Motoneta, quizás le decían así por su velocidad ó por su manera de correr tras y con el balón.
Motoneta había sido un futbolista excepcional, nunca llegó a jugar en grandes equipos ni fuera de su país ni de su estado natal, sin embargo, se destacó en los equipos donde jugó por su gran capacidad y visión de juego.
No marcó muchos goles pero era muy luchador, colaborador e intuitivo, asimiló perfectamente la manera de jugar al futbol en equipo.
El día de su retiro, al final del partido de despedida como jugador activo, lo aborda un periodista para entrevistarlo, la transmisión se hacía en vivo y directo para la televisión local.
A la derecha de Motoneta sus 3 hijos y a su izquierda su esposa, después de algunas preguntas sobre el partido y de sus sentimientos por dejar de jugar, el periodista le pregunta:
-Motoneta, si tuvieras que elegir entre el futbol y tu esposa a quién elegirías
Motoneta, mira de reojo a su esposa y casi de inmediato, sin titubear y con brillo en los
ojos responde:
-Si tuviera que elegir?, ¡sin duda!, El futbol por supuesto.
-Y usted qué opina señora, dirigiéndose el periodista, a la esposa de Motoneta.
La señora con cara de circunstancia, le toma la mano a su esposo y dice:
-Esa es su pasión y nadie se la va a quitar.
