Una de estas mañanas estaba en mi jardín y revisando mis plantas de melón para ver cómo iban los meloncitos que habían logrado crecer, me di cuenta que el más grande de ellos ya estaba maduro y al ver que ya estaba prácticamente desprendido de la rama, lo tomé. Ese día por casualidad se cumplía un mes de las fotos que había hecho para un post donde muestro las plantas que hay en mi jardín, en una de las fotos está ese mismo melón cuando empezó a salir. De los frutos que salen, muy pocos crecen, por eso me hace feliz lograr cosechar aunque sea uno solo por ahora.
One of these mornings I was in my garden and checking my melon plants to see how the little melons that had managed to grow were doing, I noticed that the biggest of them was already ripe and when I saw that it was practically detached from the branch, I took it. That day, by chance, it was one month since I had taken photos for a post where I show the plants that are in my garden, in one of the photos there is that same melon when it started to come out. Of the fruits that come out, very few grow, that's why I'm happy to be able to harvest even just one for now.

También me fijé en que mi planta de parchita (maracuyá) estaba más grande (pese a que se la estuvieron comiendo unos bichos), aun falta bastante para que llegue a su etapa de floración pero me alegra ver que va bien.
I also noticed that my passion fruit plant was bigger (even though it was being eaten by bugs), it's still a long way from its flowering stage but I'm glad to see that it's doing well.

Adicionalmente he estado realizando algunos “experimentos” sembrando vegetales que pueden volver a crecer después de cortados. Lo he intentado con cebollín, cebolla, puerro, e incluso probé con remolachas y zanahorias pero no resultó. Con el cebollín y el puerro me ha ido un poco mejor ya que con solo colocar la parte de la raíz en la tierra empieza a brotar a los pocos días, sin embargo el cebollín se me pudre muy rápido, supongo que es cuestión de seguir indagando y probando hasta dar con el truco o la técnica.
Additionally I have been doing some "experiments" by planting vegetables that can grow back after being cut. I've tried it with scallions, onions, leeks, and even tried beets and carrots but it didn't work. With the chives and leeks I have done a little better because with only placing the root part in the ground it starts to sprout after a few days, however the chives rot very quickly, I guess it's a matter of continuing to investigate and try until I find the trick or the technique.
Por último hay otro “experimento” que estoy probando, ya que me gustan mucho las batatas se me ocurrió que podría sembrar, investigué un poco y resulta que no es tan difícil. Basta con colocar una batata en un envase con agua y esperar a que le salgan brotes, estos brotes son las que se siembran luego. Definitivamente las plantas parecieran tener algo de magia.
Finally there is another "experiment" I am trying, since I like sweet potatoes very much I thought I could sow, I did some research and it turns out that it is not so difficult. You just have to put a sweet potato in a container with water and wait for the sprouts, these sprouts are the ones that are sown later. The plants definitely seem to have some magic.

I always wanted to grow watermelons and melons when I was little. But I think this is a very difficult and challenging job. If I have a huge garden one day, I will grow huge watermelons and melons in a very sunny season ...
taking care of a garden like mine that is relatively big might be a little bit challenging sometimes, but is more gratifying when you see the results you get! I found melons easy to take care of, maybe you can search a little bit how to grow them in containers in a small space, the plant doesn't grow too much and you can attach it to a trellis and it will grow well too! good luck!

Qué chévere que obtuviste un meloncito. Yo lo máximo que he llegado a obtener son pimentones y ajíes, viviendo en un apartamento no se puede hacer mucho que digamos jaja. Espero que sigas teniendo resultados positivos en tu huerto😊

¡Muchas gracias! me encanta animar a otros a sembrar tambien, este ya es el 3er melon que cosecho de esas plantas, lastima que el cuarto salio feo jeje.
que no te detenga el hecho de no tener un jardin, lo bueno es que estas aprovechando el espacio! eso es lo importante, tambien puedes probar como hice yo con el cebollin y el ajoporro, incluso con el celery se puede hacer tambien, te puedes conseguir uno de esos maceteros rectangulares y lo colocas en alguna ventana!
Probaré con el cebollín y el puerro a ver qué tal me va! jaja. Gracias por las recomendaciones.
