I participated in an online music course
while working 12 hour shifts at my job.
.
This song came to me after a shift when I was leaving the parking lot.
I grabbed my phone and opened the voice memos app and beatboxed the idea.
.

This is the realization of that original hook.
It’s a sonic journey fitting for embarking on
a new venture.

_{Walking across the pavement strewn with leaves and debris,

I stare at my palms as if they contain

some kind of until now unforeseen enigma

that only the release of my desire to understand will unlock.}

I let go and fall into the neon vortex.

_{The pain in my joints vanishes along with gravity's strain,

and I wake up in a pristine clearing...

...strange, because the parking lot I was previously in

felt very much like the real world.}

I enter the vortex a second time:
this time I ascend instead of fall.
