I wanted to write a post that promotes more conversation and engagement, but rereading my initial draft I found it rather boring. So, I'll stick to my regular post format with a little extra here and there. Hopefully with some practice I'll learn to make more engaging posts ^^
I appreciate all of the comments and am trying to comment more myself, as I've always been more of a lurker. I'm really glad I started blogging almost 3 years ago (on and off) and the anniversary is this month.
Inspiration feels so fleeting, sudden and random.
Personally I regularly go through ups and downs with creativity. I'd love to draw on will alone, but forcing it simply doesn't work for me. I'd love to draw dragons again, but I haven't fel any inspiration for those. So I just go with the flow, since just drawing regularly will help me improve my skills.
For this drawing the theme was flowers (cherry blossoms) I love flowers and might eventually make a series of various flowers. Having a few broad goals helps me get more art done. Even deadlines can be motivating, but missing a deadline can make me quit a project, so I prefer to not set them for personal projects. I've tried various art schedules, but I don-t have the persistence to stick to those.
The gif took longer to make than I expected, since I had to figure out biggest smallest file size I could upload. The hue shift is really easy to achieve, but adds a nice "punch", basically animations grab attention more than static pictures.
I paint in layers, that way colors blend nice and end up looking more vibrant.
I used the pen since I wanted to add fine details and my thinnest brush isn't that thin. I do this last since I don't want for the ink to bleed from water (make sure the painting dries completely). Also, I like trying style variations. Also I used stronger pink colors, since white isn't very fun to paint with watercolors. ;)
Do you look for inspiration everywhere or does it come to you? Do you think inspiration or motivation is more important?
Thank you for checking out <3
Really lovely artwork. Very well done, indeed ❤️! I'm with you when it comes to inspirations, as it's better to let it flow naturally than forcing it out. Sometimes, I force myself to stay productive and create something new, even when I have little ideas on what to do. I'd eke out every single imaginative thoughts, and brain cells I have on that one post, only for the end result to be somewhat okay-ish.
Personally, I'd rather take a couple of days off and focus on one great post, then posting 'okay' content more regularly. It's that surge of ideas and energetic push that shoves you on a computer to start typing, or picking up a pen to start drawing that matters most. It's how you make great stuff, like this lovely painting :-D
Thank you very much :) Yeah forcing it just makes it worse and wastes more time :O Crazy how the inspiration can make a huge difference. And yeah, same, when I force it and still give my best, the result is okay-ish.
It certainly does a make difference, indeed! I've checked out some of your other artwork, and all of them so far are equally stunning! Cheers :-)
Thank you very much!! ^_^
I understand you. Sometimes it's better to take a break instead of forcing things. Working under pressure might work for some people but for others it will be the opposite.
Whenever I don't feel inspired or even energised enough to make a post, I just skip it and wait for the following day. In fact, today is such a day. I wanted to make a post but I was feeling tired so I've abandoned that idea. I'll do it tomorrow. 🙃
Thanks for sharing your work, it looks cute!
Thank you :)
It's nice to know I'm not the only one. Yeah energy is so important! I started working out little by little and I hope it will help with everything xD
It's so pretty :)
The only inspiration/motivation I ever need to look for is for things I don't want to do XD
Hahahahah xD I can relate, definitely happens to me too..😂
I believe neither one is more important than the other. Someone who is not inspired can be motivated and vice versa. A person doing their day-job may not be inspired by it or the tasks that they perform, but can be highly motivated. One isn't intrinsic, or apart from the other. I guess it is situational.
Now, in respect of creativity and motivation/inspiration that is a different matter I believe. I see inspiration taking the fore here as I see it as more valuable an emotion for creativity than motivation. Whether it is writing, drawing, cooking...Creating anything comes from inspiration, more so than the motivation, or drive, to do a thing.
I am hoping that some of this makes sense. Lol.
Such lovely water colours. You are very talented.
Wow, you explained it much better :D An yes all of it makes sense, when I tried to explain in the first draft I was just going in weird circles 😅
You're great with words :D
Thank you for the comment and compliment! ^_^
I just write what I feel and think and hope it makes sense; On this occasion it did. I hope you have a great weekend. :)
Thank you, you as well! :D
Beautiful artwork! I think motivation and inspiration both are important. Without motivation, we'd probably won't get things done/channel our inspiration and without inspiration there's probably little to do.
Thank you :D And I agree ^^
Thank you :D
That's a beautiful blend
Thank you ^^
That's lovely. I love a convoy of painting and pen. It really stands out!
Thank you :D
