For an upcoming project, our 8 year old Red-Pepper took these photos, and we would like your help deciding which to use.

Basically, the photos are for a children's book about a lost opossum joey who's searching for his siblings. It will be a black and white book, so we are editing the photos our eight year old took for the best B&W presentation. I'll share some of this "scene" with you, and then show the options for which photo to choose next.

In this scene out little opossum discovers a hole in a log, and decides to look inside for his siblings.

Here he is starting to climb in...

And here he disappears inside. After searching out the interior, he realizes that his siblings are not inside, and exits the log. At the request of @squirrelbait, I decided to set up the storyline a little more to help you best choose the next photo to use in the project. Both @squirrelbait and @jacobtothe have already offered up some potential photo selections based on the raw photos, so now we present them in an edited form and ask for your help as well.

Please note that the opossum does not necessarily need to look sad that he ahs not yet found his siblings, we just need a good shot of him peeking out of the hole and have enough options to choose from we figured that we'd ask for help.
