Hive Becoming Antifragile

Most people believe that their idols, their champions are superheroes. They were born with extreme talents. And dominated a field completely.

The truth is that they are just ordinary people, who transitioned themselves into extraordinary people by becoming antifragile. By picking up challenges. And by always focusing on growth.

I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over again in my life. And that's why I succeed. — Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan's philosophy was simple. If you want to succeed at something, you consistently practise it. You keep upgrading yourself until you become the very best.

Becoming antifragile under pressure

Being antifragile means you get better under pressure.

You withstand any kind of pressure. And you not only cope with it, but grow with it. You learn to thrive under volatility and uncertainity.

Most of the people in the world are fragile. They easily break under pressure. They give up easily.

But true leaders, champions, and successful people are antifragile. Instead of giving up and breaking under heavy pressure, they get stronger.

As Nassim Nicholas Taleb said, "Some things benefit from shocks, they thrive and grow when exposed to volatility, randomness and disorder."

Hive will become antifragile

As the price of hive has dropped in the last few weeks, many people have lost their interest in this platform.

However, when the price will rise back to 30 cents or above, people will come back, with new interest and energy. They will start believing again in the concept of decentralised platform.

Like hive, many cryptocurrencies has gone through ups and downs. Many just fell down never to rise again. But a few keep coming back. Rising again and again. They sustained their growth, and thrived.

For example, bitcoin, in its intial days, went through hundreds of exchange hacks, many people lost their money. It was mostly used to buy drugs. But with time, it sustained, and now most of the top financial institutes are getting involved in bitcoin.

So, like bitcoin, or any other major cryptocurrency, hive will have its ups and downs. And if it sustains, like it has in the past, it will eventually thrive.

The whole steemit debacle made the hive platform stronger, with people having bigger dreams and more energy.

Although, with the recent drop in the prices, that energy is a little bit low, but it will get up with future developments in the hive ecosystem and rise in the hive prices during the bull market.

The things is, there are no shortcuts. People think that if they invest in the right defi coins, they will make it. Just like they thought during the 2017 ICO bubble.

Just because hive didn't give crazy returns as most DEFI coins gave, it doesn't mean hive is a shit coin. The actual growth is slow and steady. Not skyrocket and then go to zero.

Most Defi coins will everntually die, just like ICO's. Only a few will survive.

There is no escaping the hard work— if you find yourself searching for quick hacks or easy wins, you may as well give up now.

If you do the work, you get rewarded. There are no shortcuts in life. — Michael Jordan.

Once you learn how to grow under unfavourable conditions, your success is inevitable.

The most unfavourable time for hive community was when Justin Sun took over steemit. However, most people know not to give up. So, instead of breaking down, and giving up under heavy pressure, they sustained and thrived.

Now, in the hive ecosystem, the whole community feels responsible for its growth. Every person wants to contribute something, be it posting on hive, developing something on the platform, or spreading the word on twitter. With the growth of hive, individuals who are contributing consistently, are also growing with it.

Chaos is the ladder

The good thing about randomness, uncertainity and chaos is that it helps people in dealing with risks, turmoils and disorders.

You develop growth mindset under chaos. You don't just cope with challenges, you enjoy them. The bigger the challenge, the more you stretch yourself.

When you set your mind to achieve a goal, there are always setbacks. Roadblocks. I have faced them. I think everyone faces them.

Making hive the first decentralised social media platform, or blogging platform, or whatever you want to call it, is a big goal. There will be roadblocks in terms of old users leaving the platform. And lack of new users. Not enough people joining hive means not enough growth.

But I think we will get over these small setbacks. The path to progress is not straight. It's volatile.

If you run into a wall, you don't stop, or turn back. You figure out a way to climb it, to go from the sideways, to dig under it. And in some circumstances, to go through it.

You don't learn to grow by just thinking about growth. You grow by being under stressful conditions, and getting over them.

Building confidence takes time and efforts

It took me a long time to be confident about my content. To be not worried about judgement of other people, about what I am writing.

In the beginning, I was worried that people won't read my posts. Another self development stuff. But over time, I learned to get over these petty doubts and be confident about my content.

Similarly, the growth journey of hive will take both time and effort. But eventually you will be confident enough about its longetivity.

Confidence is doing what you truly want with the deepest intent and without caring about the outcome. If you are confident in your life, your career, you will be confident in your writing as well.

With each day, I gain more confidence about the bright future of this platform. If in the end, it doesn't have a bright future, I have made a lot of progress while I was here. And I will be more valuable person than I was when I joined hive.
