The tourist season is upon us. I usually start mid June but ill be happy if i start early July. Its not looking good. Im booked maybe 1/5 of my dates for the summer.
Just these last 2-3 days ive started receiving inquires after 3 months of absolute silence.
For that reason i want to give an update on our COVID situation here. Please visit Croatia.😢
So these numbers inside red circles are the total number of cases during the pandemic.
The lines you see are county borders. I live in the county with 549 confirmed cases and we were hit the worst, although looking at the worldwide stats it wasnt bad at all.
The county has a population of 450k so there were only 0.12% of people in our county that contracted COVID.
In the last 24 hours in Croatia we had no new cases and total of 71 active cases. In the last week only 3 new cases confirmed which makes for a pretty flat curve.
During the pandemic we had 103 deaths on 2246 cases which is a 4,5% death rate.
In the coming days we will be opening our borders to citizens of 10 European countries. If i had to make the guess it will be our best performing tourist markets and our closest neighbors ofc. Nations like Slovenia, Hungary, Bosnia, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Slovakia, etc.
Im really hoping that the next 10 days or so leads to us being completely clear of COVID so the season might start as expected.

Things are looking good here in Denmark also. The cases keep dropping even though we have one of the higest numbers of tests per capita, and the hospitalisations is lowering each day. Yesterday we had below 100 in hospital with a population of 5.5 million. I am not going to Croatia this year, we are staying in Denmark, but I have only heard good about it from people I know.
I give it a month for most of the smaller nations to be Covid clear. Once mass hysteria subsides we should get back to normal
Yes, the infection can actually be pushed back, that is the surprising result of all the trial and error. Sadly Sweden was slow and arrogant in their approach and they just took over France in death per million. They are just next to us. And then there's the Americas where Brazil and USA seems to be mentally infected on top of the virus.
Looks like Croatia manage to flatten the curve. What about the intl. airports or foreign visitors,will there be any policies about them?
All i know at this point is that we will be opening our borders to foreigners any day now. A few are open already.
The place of origin is important.
I read the same thing about Portugal. They are opening the borders but only to specific countries and mainly Portuguese speaking countries.
