Sunday Drive

You go crazy if you never leave the house, corona or not. We went on a Sunday drive. Photos below.

This is from a district close to the city center on a rocky hill. The houses on the left were all built in the 1930's or 1940's, I think.

This is clearly 1960's style.

From the hill towards the city

The tower of the security bunker against the devil is on the right. The 300 mm lens compresses the image, bringing far away objects closer than they naked eye perceives them to be.

That's a grain silo in the distance.

The water tower that serves the city center is on the same hill.

I envy the views of the people who live in those apartments in this building next to the tower.

We drove on and ended up at the harbor in Niemi by random chance.

@lordbutterfly, assuming that the engine and the power train were in good shape, how long do you think it would probably take to renovate this boat to be good enough for taking tourists to the lake?

On to the next location.

We used to live on the other side of this lake about 3-4 km from here.

Close to this place, there is a hamburger restaurant called Bus Burger. You can see why when you look at the pictures. The buses and the cars are vintage which is why I made the pictures black and white.

My daughter said someone must have made an oopsie with that car when she saw this.

It's just a prop.

Appeared to be closed.

This was on the other bus adjacent to the building. You can walk straight into it from inside. A hole has been made into the wall.

After this we drove home.

Sort:

Even your 30s houses look like our 70s houses. We had communism unfortunately. lol

I cant say for sure about the boat. Cant see what the interior looks like. The best way to look at it is like renovating a apartment.
The difference with a boat is that youre both renovating an apartment and a car at the same time.

The outside looks ok. Dirty, some sanding neccesary. The exterior isnt that much of an issue. Its the interior and the motor is the biggest thing to worry about.

The 30's houses have been recently renovated, though. :)
