in OCD4 years ago

You must have heard, read stories or seeing people going from grass to grace but of all the stories, there are always an outstanding one and the story of Nigeria Super Eagle player, Victor Osimhen is one of such outstanding stories.

Born on the 29th day of December in 1998, Victor Osimhen was not born with a silver spoon. In fact, Victor was not privileged to be born with even a rubber spoon, he was born without a spoon.

Victor was born into a very poor family whose living standard was almost zero. At a tender age of six (6), Victor Osimhen had already know what hustling feels like as he started hawking sachet water on the street of Lagos for survival.

Haven't lost his mother at a tender age, Victor Osimhen recalled how his elder brother used to sell Newspaper, his sister hawking oranges while himself settled for bottled water as they hawk in Lagos traffic for survival.

Victor's love for football started from his childhood as he'd developed strong passion for the round leather game as a kid.

Haven't endured a very rough start to life, Victor Osimhen came to limelight in 2015 during the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile where Victor announced himself to the world via his amazing display of raw talent and setting a new world record for most goals scored by a single player in the U-17 FIFA World Cup.

Osimhen who won the golden boot and silver ball at the tournament, became a player of Ultimate Strikers Academy in Lagos. In January 2017, Victor officially joined VFL Wolfsburg in a three and a half years contract.

In July 2019, Victor Osimhen signed for Ligue1 outfit, Lille in a €12m deal. Making his Lille debut against Nante in August 2019, Victor Osimhen scored a brace to gift his team a 2:1 win in a ligue1 march.

In October 2019, he scored his first UEFA Champions League goal at Stamford bridge against Frank Lampard led Chelsea FC in a 2:1 defeat to the home team. The Nigerian international finished the 2019/20 football season as club highest scorer scoring 13 goals in 25 league matches.

The 21 years old Nigerian international today 31 July 2020, make another history as Nigeria most expensive player as he officially join a Serie A club Napoli in a club record deal worth €50m on a five (5) years contract.

From selling bottled water on the street of Lagos to becoming the most expensive Nigerian Player in Europe, Victor Osimhen is arguably the definition of grass to grace.

Congratulations to Victor Osimhen on his rise from grass to grace. I wish you the best in your new club.
