Welcome To Hive
Although Hive itself is the underlyng blockchain technology that powers many applications and games, if you want to get stuck in to the social side and find like minded people with similar interests, it can be a little bit of a challenge to find your feet when you first join (or even after a few years)! This is where the Havey's Guides come in!
There is a plethora of content here ranging from posts by musicians, bloggers, artists, vloggers, travelers, gardeners, crypto enthusiasts, finance, technology, space... the list goes on. Thankfully, there are communities that cater for all these interests and I want to share as wide a range as possible with you so you can bookmark this page and come back to it whenever you want.
Evergreen List of Communities
Below is a growing list of communities that are active with a short description of what is in each if you wanted to check out content or you are a content creator looking to post about a specific topic. The links will take you to that community's page and make sure you click the "Subscribe" button and get involved!

Cooking, Food & Drink
- Foodies Bee Hive - For all things related to food and maybe some cooking tips, have a look at this community!
Creative Writing & Poetry
- The Ink Well - Dedicated to creative writing and story tellers whether in short form, long form, sci-fi, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, as long as there's a story, it will be here.
Entrepreneurship
- CTP Swarm - A community focused on bringing online businesses and entrepreneurs to the blockchain with a huge emphasis on keep things simple and supporting each other every day! Home of TheHiveGuide and ClickTrackProfit training platforms.
Environment & Sustainability
- ecoTrain - Content related to how you can live sustainably, eco-friendly living in harmony with the Earth (we only have one after all), homesteading, eco-villages and recycling.
Finance
- LeoFinance - A community for crypto and finance with many of its own tools set up to help you on your journey - you can post on their dedicated front end here
- HODL - Dedicated to crypto, blockchain and strategy with people sharing ideas and their own journey.
Gaming
- Hive Gaming - A community for all kinds of gamers on Hive with organized tournaments and competitions. Join their Discord server here
Knitting & Sewing
- Needlework Monday - Dedicated to all things needlework related including knitting, crocheting, sewing, cross-stitch, quilting and many more!
Music
- Music - All content relating to all forms of music from musicians to music lovers sharing their favourites.
- Hive Open Mic - If you like live performances then there's weekly contests where the musicians of Hive share their productions here.
Nature
- Amazing Nature Community - For all things related to nature and the outside world including zoology, botany and landscapes
Natural Medicine
- Natural Medicine - Whether you're into natural health remedies and herbalism or care about mental health and "Earth friendly practices", there's plenty to look at in this community.
Photography & Images
- Feathered Friends - Photography, art, stories. All of your original content photos and posts about birds are welcome here!
- Photography Lovers - Pretty much exactly as the community describes - love photography? This will probably be for you!
- Shadow Hunters - All of your original content photos featuring Shadows or Reflections are welcome here. There are also regular and ongoing contests to get involved with too!
- Stock Images - If you are looking for some images to use for your own work, you can use these and share the HIVE rewards with the person who made them.
- Urban Exploration Community - A community that supports Urbex Photography and Stories content from around the World.
Science & Technology
- STEM Social - Science, Technology, Engineering Mathematics (STEM) community with plenty of blogs around these topics
- Project Hope - Mostly around blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, technology and cybersecurity
Space & Astronomy
- Space - For the stargazers and space fans out there, get your fix in this community.
Sports
- Actifit - a dedicated fitness app on HIVE that connects to your smartphone so you can share your latest activities
- Exhaust - another fitness related site that connects to other apps like Strava with curated workouts featured each day.
- Sports Talk Social - All things relating to sport can be found here with people sharing their opinions (or rage) about the latest matches, sports news or activities
Travel
- Have You Been Here - Travel content and a dedicated map which has pins dropped over the world from various travel blogs shared by the community on Hive - check the map out here
- Travel Feed - Travel content that gets posted via the TravelFeed app also gets shared to this community and the Have You Been Here community - plenty of cool features on their website too.
Video Content
- ThreeSpeak - Vloggers and videos of all kinds available for you to watch here and content creators won't have content censored (unless for legal reasons), freedom of expression is strongly encouraged.

A great start to some awesome niche communities on the blockchain. I'll add a few more to the list (though I'm going to be lazy and just list the names since I'm short on time):

Ecotrain (sustainable living and other eco-friendly topics)
Stock Images (to share photos for stock use on Hive)
Ummm, I'm probably forgetting quite a few more, oh just posted in Wednesday Walk, so that's another...off to a session, but I'll report back if I think of some others that no one else shares. ;)

Nice work. Do you know of any poetry communities that are active? I've found a few but they're kinda dead.
Thanks! I think The Ink Well has some poetry in there under "Creative Writing" so I may just put Poetry in the heading so it catches the eye. Not sure on how much poetry gets shared there though and what the poetry scene is like unfortunately. All I know is that @rowan808 set up the Ink Well and it has support from @curie and @ocd so it must be active.
@cliffgreen @nickyhavey @shanibeer is babysitting the Ink Well now and I understand they're currently not curating poetry and focusing on short stories only.

Great list @nickyhavey :) and @livinguktaiwan is right - The Ink Well is not accepting poetry at present, @cliffagreen. You can read more about our plans in the latest newsletter. Thanks Fiona! Yes, that's exactly what I wanted to create here, a general sweep across the communities so people can see the topics available and find/post the content they want to! Plenty going on and as developments continue, more users (hopefully) who will get involved in this all 😃
