For the dough:

  • 2 packets of dry yeast
  • 200ml water - lukewarm
  • 200ml milk - lukewarm
  • 200ml vegetable oil
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of sugar
  • 1 egg (if you don't have one, you can skip it)
  • flour (as much as it takes to have a soft dough that doesn't stick on your fingers)

In a bowl add the milk, water and yeast and give them a good stir. Then, pour the oil, egg, salt and sugar and keep stirring. Start adding your flour as your work the mixture with your hands. Once you got a nice, soft dough that doesn't leave your hands dirty, let it rest for at least half an hour in a warm place (I usually preheat my oven at 50 degrees Celsius and let my dough inside to help it rise).

The sauce:

  • a couple of freshly grated tomatoes, or a cup of tomato sauce
  • a little olive oil
  • black pepper
  • a pinch of oregano
  • a tablespoon (or two) of mayonnaise (I like the richer texture it gives to the sauce)
  • a tablespoon of mustard

Mix all your ingredients together and you're good to go.
My mum sometimes likes to add some olive pasta to the sauce, it's definitely worth trying it once!

The topping:

That's the easiest part, just use whatever cheese and cold cut you like, add some vegetables to make your pizza feel a little less greasy and have fun with every possible combination you can think of!

Your dough is an empty canvas waiting for you to be creative on it!!

As you can see, my (left) side is full of vegetables and my man's (right) side is vegan free (except for the fresh tomatoes in the sauce).

Cook in a preheated oven, at 200-220 degrees Celsius for about 40 minutes (it always depends on the oven). Don't forget to check on your pizza regularly to make sure you won't burn it.

Serve warm with some cold beer on the side and keep your man happy for the rest of the day.
