It's been a really hot summer this year, it rained quite a bit at the beginning but the temperature has been quite high in the past three/four weeks and finally, summer storms seem to be getting here according to yahoo weather.
I like the summer rainy days. I like the smell of the ground when the heavy drops get down to the soil. One of the things I like the most is getting in my mountain bike for a ride while the water keeps falling from the sky.
It is a nice experience, you just don't care about getting wet as you are already sweating. It is warm but not hot and the ground gets much harder and less slippery.
If heavy rain stays for a while you may have to cross some of the creeks usually dry most of the time but quite big when these rainy days come at the end of the summer. You have to keep the equilibrium not to fall down due to the water force. You get your feet muddy sometimes and of course, you get all wet once you cross the water flow and the back wheel throws all the water into your back. It makes me feel like a kid in the middle of nature. Finally, when I get back home, I just use the hose to clean the bike and take a nice long shower to feel the soft temperature while it lasts.
Can't wait for those storms to show up!!
