My name is Sebastián García, Venezuelan by birth, I am an Audiovisual Director, Photographer, Producer, Gaffer and Post-producer. Contemplator of light and its splendor at every hour of the day and any source of artificial light. I grew up in Guatire, Edo. Miranda. Formed and raised in a private school that has the traditional Venezuelan culture as the basis of his education.

Mi nombre es Sebastián García, venezolano de nacimiento, soy Realizador Audiovisual, Fotógrafo, Productor, Gaffer y Postproductor. Contemplador de la luz y su esplendor en cada hora del dia y cualquier fuente de luz artificial. Crecí en Guatire, Edo. Miranda. Formado y criado en un Colegio privado que tiene la Cultura tradicional venezolana como base de su educación.
My path in the audiovisual or interest in Cinema begins empirically and by a need to communicate through the visual image. Movies, TV shows, Advertising, Video clips and others have marked a point in my life, everything is reflected in a professional way since I graduated from the Liceo. My concern was, the Cinema is studied? From there, the doubts began to be answered.
| Mi camino en el audiovisual o interés en el Cine empieza de manera empírica y por una necesidad de comunicar a través de la imagen visual. Películas, programas de Televisión, Publicidad, Videoclips y demás han marcado un punto en mi vida, todo se plasma de forma profesional desde que egrese del Liceo. Mi inquietud era, el Cine se estudia? Desde allí, las dudas empezaron a responderse.
I started studying Film at the Comprehensive School of Film and Television, where I learned from the first day the trade in which I wanted to be and belong. My need to make and produce Cinema increased in all the exercises and projects of colleagues. Arriving at the University of the Arts opens up more possibilities for learning and training in the way I wanted, the Directorate. Being a Director does not happen overnight, it is more complex and full of a lot of hard work and effort to achieve it. To do this, one must know and go through all the areas of an audiovisual team to understand the great responsibility that a Director has. From picking up the cables, serving the coffee, assisting each area manager, being constant in wanting to learn and getting to know each other well to be able to direct many people.
| Empecé estudiando Cine en la Escuela integral de Cine y Televisión, dónde aprendí desde el primer día el oficio en el que quería estár y pertenecer. Mi necesidad de realizar y producir Cine aumentaban en todos los ejercicios y proyectos de compañeros. Al llegar a la Universidad de las Artes se me abren más posibilidades de aprendizaje y formación en el camino que quería, la Dirección. Ser Director no es de un día para otro, es más complejo y lleno de mucho trabajo duro y esfuerzo por conseguirlo. Para hacerlo, se debe conocer y pasar por todas las áreas de un equipo de audiovisual para comprender la gran responsabilidad que tiene un Director. Desde recoger los cables, servir el café, asistir a cada jefe de área, ser constante en querer aprender y conocerse bien para poder dirigir a muchas personas.
First from the outside, seeing how the whole process develops to generate an Audiovisual or Cinematographic product. Then, over time, I start doing them on my own and with the references learned in both institutions. At the level of academic and literary training, the habit of reading comes from school with stories, stories, legends and novels. Every story starts from an idea. Having literary references such as Mario Puzzo, Eduardo Galeano, Rómulo Gallegos, Gabriel García Márquez, among many authors. Theoretical knowledge from Science and the Arts, adding Psychology, Anthropology and History to reinforce everything I have learned and continue to learn along the way.
| Primero desde afuera viendo cómo se desarrolla todo el proceso para generar un producto Audiovisual o Cinematográfico. Para luego, con el tiempo empezar a realizarlos por mi cuenta y con las referencias aprendidas en ambas instituciones. A nivel de formación académica y literarias, el hábito de la lectura viene desde la escuela con cuentos, historias, leyendas y novelas. Toda historia parte de una idea. Teniendo referencias literarias como Mario Puzzo, Eduardo Galeano, Rómulo Gallegos, Gabriel García Márquez, entre muchos autores. El conocimiento teórico desde la Ciencia y las Artes, agregando la Psicología, Antropología e Historia para reforzar todo lo que he aprendido y sigo aprendiendo en el camino.
Light, Color and Shadow. Short words that describe how I understand the image from my social construction. Life experiences that have found their way through where to make them see them. Also the projection of light in any space and the shadow generated, which dictates a lot an atmosphere or visual reference. Color as a language of meaning and feeling, pigments in different saturations. Landscapes, Sunrises and Occases make contemplation in time and rhythm of the audiovisual creations that I make.
| Luz, Color y Sombra. Palabras cortas que describen como comprendo la imagen desde mi contrucción social. Experiencias de vida que han encontrado sus cauces por dónde hacerlos ver. También la proyección de luz en cualquier espacio y la sombra generada, que dicta mucho una atmósfera o referencia visual. El color cómo lenguaje de significado y sentimiento, pigmentos en diferentes saturaciones. Paisajes, Amaneceres y Ocasos hacen la contemplación en el tiempo y ritmo de las creaciones audiovisuales que hago.
Audiovisual and the Arts have given me the vision and understanding of other disciplines that I developed as a child, such as soccer, swimming and reading. I have been able to make life in television spaces, cinema, documentaries, commercials, theater and Videoclip. That being there is where I can see the entire structure that surrounds the spaces and their processes. Process that makes me reflect and do catharsis on the proposals that I want to develop, and then transform it into visual language that is communicated through light, Color and Shadow.
| El Audiovisual y las Artes me han dado la visión y entendimiento sobre otras disciplinas que desarrolle de más niño como el Futbol, la natación y la lectura. He podido hacer vida en espacios de Televisión, el cine, el documental, comerciales, el teatro y el Videoclip. Que estando allí es donde puedo ver toda la estructura que rodea los espacios y sus procesos. Proceso que me hace reflexionar y hacer catarsis sobre las propuestas que quiero desarrollar, para luego transformarla en lenguaje visual que se comunica por medio de luz, Color y Sombra.
My cinematographic references are Asian and Latin American Cinema, Kurosawa Cinema, Stanley Kubrick, Pedro Almodóvar, Gaspar Noe, Román Chalbaud, Igmar Bergman, Martín Scorsece, Won Kar Wai, Orson Welles, Wes Anderson. Adding to many more, all have given me knowledge and visions that make my need find everything to be able to transmit it in a film, video clip or Audiovisual in general.
| Mi referencias cinematográficas son de Cine Asiático, Latinoamericano, Cine de Kurosawa, Stanley Kubrick, Pedro Almodóvar, Gaspar Noe, Román Chalbaud, Igmar Bergman, Martín Scorsece, Won Kar Wai, Orson Welles, Wes Anderson. Agregando a muchos más, todos me han aportado conocimientos y visiones que hacen que mi necesidad e inquietud encuentre todo para poder transmitirla en una película, videoclip o Audiovisual en general.
On a personal and collective level, I have managed to be in many spaces for the creation of Arts, culture and research. I have directed, produced and worked on Video Clips of many genres, from Hip Hop to Symphonic Music. The video clip has been one of the windows where the aesthetics I want to communicate is reflected in a video of 4min or less. In other aspects of music I have had the opportunity to be present in many traditional, symphonic and Popular music events, understood as concerts and recitals. Going through Rock, Trapp and Fusion of musical genres.
| A nivel personal y colectivo, he logrado estar en muchos espacios de creación de Artes, cultura e investigación. He dirigido, producido y trabajado en Videoclips de muchos géneros, desde Hip hop hasta Música sinfónica. El videoclip ha sido una de las ventanas dónde la estética que quiero comunicar se plasma en un video de 4min o menos. En otros aspectos de la música he tenido la oportunidad de estar presente en muchos eventos de música tradicional, sinfónico y Popular, entiéndase cómo conciertos y recitales. Pasando por el Rock, Trapp y Fusiones de Generos musicales.
As a director of a short film or documentary, I have had a lot of learning and success experiences. Where evolution continues to advance in all the images, photos and videos that I have made. Collective work is essential for the realization of a Film, in which I have met with many professionals in the cinema that I have taken the positive from each one. In the commercial it lies in what is done, what is not done and its innovation in the time we are living. Adding that being the one who records the audiovisual in a music, singing or dance event, I have also organized Freestyle or rap events in my area of residence, which supports the promotion of emerging talents.
| Cómo director de un cortometraje o documental, he tenido experiencias mucho aprendizaje y éxito. Donde la evolución sigue avanzando en todas las imágenes, fotos y videos que he realizado. El trabajo en colectivo es fundamental para la realización de un Film, en el cual he coincidido con muchos profesionales en el cine que de cada uno me he llevado lo positivo. En el spot publicitario radica en lo hecho, lo no hecho y su innovación en el tiempo que estamos viviendo. Agregando que siendo el que registra el audiovisual en un evento de música, canto o baile, también he organizado eventos de Freestyle o rap en mi zona de residencia, que apoya el impulso de talentos emergentes.
An important part of how the process of an Audiovisual is understood, is how, having gone through the idea, production and realization, what has already been recorded is finished joining in a montage. Editing and Editing is the last part of an Audiovisual to come out. The montage is the succession of images where they tell a story or story. With the theoretical bases of montage such as classical montage, parallel montage, rhythmic montage, among others. Everything I imagine has several phases to become visual reality in image. This is how I perceive it, contemplate it and transmit it. Like a book, but with videos. Working on the lighting of a Chroma Keys and then drilling in editing, has been a coming and going in the process, but never abandoned rather deepening and having more tools to want to say a message with the audiovisual.
| Una parte importante de cómo se comprende el proceso de un Audiovisual, es como habiendo pasado pasado por la idea, producción y realización, se termina de unir en un montaje lo ya grabado. Edición y Montaje es la última parte de un Audiovisual para que salga a la luz. El montaje es la sucesión de imágenes donde estas cuentan un relato o historia. Con las bases teóricas del montaje como el montaje clásico, montaje paralelo, montaje rítmico, entré otros. Todo lo que imagino tiene varias fases para que se vuelva realidad visual en imagen. Así lo percibo, lo contempló y lo transmito. Cómo un libro, pero con vídeos. Trabajar la iluminación de un Chroma Keys para luego perforar en edición, viene siendo un ir y venir en el proceso, pero nunca abandonado más bien profundizando y teniendo más herramientas para querer decir un mensaje con el audiovisual.
The journey does not only go through creation, but also with the people and processes that I have understood and managed in moments. Also completing the facts from the consciousness of Creator and researcher, starting from how Genesis, in the self as a person and as a habit my environment, how I see it and interpret it to react and coexist, where my mind is in line with reality and what can to create. Sharing who I am with you makes me want to continue recounting part of my creative process and it makes me happy to be able to meet more people with creative processes. In the same way, I thank @mundomanaure and @psyshock for helping me to enter this platform to continue discovering and creating.
| El recorrido no solo pasa por la creación, también con las personas y procesos que he entendido y llevado en momentos. Completando también los hechos desde la conciencia de Creador e investigador, partiendo cómo Génesis, en el yo como persona y como hábito mi entorno, cómo lo veo e interpretó para reaccionar y convivir, dónde mi mente está en consonancia con la realidad y lo que puede crear. El estar compartiendo con ustedes quien soy me da muchas ganas de seguir relatando parte de mi proceso creativo y me da alegría poder conocer más personas con procesos creativos. De igual manera agradezco mucho a @mundomanaure y @psyshock por ayudarme a entrar en esta plataforma para seguir descubriendo y creando.
