Greetings, inhabitants of the Hiveosphere. As a new walker in these spaces, it is my turn to introduce myself and tell you a bit about my future contributions to this network, where I hope to find quality content, talents and friendships that enrich the spirit. Let's go.As a preamble and context, the first thing I will tell you is that I came to Hive through references and recommendations from friends that I made on the Steemit platform, where I was active until a couple of years ago. Knowing that some of those friends are around here sharing their words, experiences and beautiful images, encouraged me to find some time to join in the effort to build community in these spaces and try to generate content that counterbalances so much frivolity and emptiness in the social networks, which after the pandemic were consolidated as the most important form of communication.
Mi nombre es Miguel, vivo en el sur de Venezuela, en una ciudad ubicada entre dos grandes ríos: El Orinoco y El Caroní. Ciudad Guayana, ese es el nombre del lugar donde vivo, está conformada por dos cascos urbanos: San Félix, la ciudad vieja, que creció alrededor del antiguo Puerto de Tablas en el Río Orinoco y Puerto Ordaz, la ciudad nueva, proyectada en los años 50 para albergar a quienes trabajaran en las industrias del acero y el alumino.

En Cumaná vi la luz del mundo por primera vez en abril de 1976, así que “a mis cuarenta y pocos tacos, ya ves tú”, para cantarlos con Sabina. Crecí en lugar poblado de misterios, memorias de poetas e importantes tradiciones musicales, culinarias y religiosas. Pero crecí también en un tiempo que aceleraba al ritmo de los avances tecnológicos. Ambas corrientes, a veces contradictorias, a veces confluyentes, forjaron mi pensamiento, despertaron mis inquietudes y alimentaron mi curiosidad. Así que soy un hijo más de ese espacio y ese tiempo que marcó el Fin de Siglo, con un pie en la memoria de quienes me preceden y el otro allá, en ese porvenir que no se si podré ver, pero que siempre procuro.
My name is Miguel, I live in the south of Venezuela, in a city located between two great rivers: Orinoco and Caroní. Ciudad Guayana, that is the name of the place where I live, is made up of two urban centers: San Félix, the old city, which grew around the old Puerto de Tablas on the Orinoco River and Puerto Ordaz, the new city, projected in the 50's as home of the workers in the steel and aluminum industries.Although I live in this place, which I love since more than 20 years ago, and although my three children are from here, I was born and raised in a much older city: Cumaná. Founded for the first time in 1515 (the resistance of the natives and the earthquakes destroyed it several times), my hometown is the oldest among those built by the spanish conquerors in America, that's why they call it The Firstborn in the Continent.
In Cumaná I saw the light of the world for the first time in April 1976, so "in my early forties, you see", singing with Sabina. I grew up in a place full of mysteries, memories of poets and important musical, culinary and religious traditions. But I also grew up in a time that accelerated at the rate of technological advances. Both currents, sometimes contradictory, sometimes converging, shaped my thinking, awakened my concerns and fed my curiosity. So I am one more child of that space and that time that marked the End of the Century, with one foot in the memory of those who preceded me and the other there, in that future that I do not know if I will be able to see, but that I always try to make real.
El mar, el cine, la buena mesa y la fotografía completan el círculo de mis gustos y pasiones. Y algo así como un compendio de ellas haré para ustedes cada semana en mi blog. Empezaré compartiendo una serie de artículos sobre las “Desconocidas Gigantes” de la Historia, mujeres silenciadas u opacadas en sus aportes a la ciencia, el arte, la filosofía y hasta en la guerra que me inspiraron a escribir para contar su historia. Iré también compartiendo poemas escritos durante el primer confinamiento de la pandemia, recogidos en una antología que llamé “La Revolución que nadie hizo”, eventualmente les contaré alguna experiencia gastronómica o culinaria y dejaré ver imágenes que logro capturar cuando desempolvo la cámara y doy rienda suelta a mis ojos.
I have a daughter and two sons. Beautiful, awake and wonderful, each in their own way. In them I try to clarify the signs of the coming times and leave a legacy with some of what I have learned. With them I also learn every day the lessons of the not always easy exercise of love in freedom. My family is completed by my wife, Isabel, my parents, my parents-in-law and a bunch of brothers and siters whom I love with all my heart. I try to write as much as I can, I like to read, listen and share good music and be friends with my friends, who are not many, but are the best. Although my character is not the easiest, life has rewarded me with truly divine and foolproof people.The sea, cinema, good food and photography complete the circle of my likes and passions. And I will make a sort of compendium of them for you every week on my blog. I will start sharing a series of articles about the "Unknown Giants Women" of History, women silenced or overshadowed in their contributions to science, art, philosophy and even war that inspired me to write and tell their story. I will also share poems written during the first confinement of the pandemic, collected in an anthology that I called "The Revolution that nobody made", eventually I will tell you about some gastronomic or culinary experience and I will let you see images that I can capture when I dust off the camera and give free rein to my eyes.
Finalmente, trataré de retomar, esta vez por escrito y con enlaces a las plataformas de video en las que puedan verse, la experiencia de Originales vs Covers, un proyecto que realicé en Steemit, junto a mi amiga @Isauris, en el que confrontábamos la versión original de una canción contra su cover para que la gente decidiera cual es la mejor. De esto, y de algunas otras hierbas, se compondrá el caldo de mi blog en Hive, el cual espero que visiten regularmente y resulte de su agrado.
Espero despertar lo suficiente su curiosidad con esta presentación y contar con su compañía en este viaje creativo, tanto como espero disfrutar del contenido que se genere en esta red. Cuento con que me encontraré agradables sorpresas y conoceré gente maravillosa con quien compartir contenidos de calidad, experiencias y asombros.
