Today I share a post about the Santa Rosa Town, it is located in the
southeastern part of Barquisimeto, Capital of the Lara State of Venezuela, bordered to the south by the Turbio Valley, I am Aragüeño but I am guarded at heart, my mother was born in the State But Yaracuy grew up in this great city, this town, it is the house of the Divina Pastora, my family has great devotion. It is so, that my mother bears his name. Pastora González allusive to this virgin.

Hoy les comparto un post a cerca del Pueblo Santa Rosa, se encuentra en la parte sureste de Barquisimeto, Capital de Estado Lara de Venezuela, bordeado al sur por el Valle del Turbio, soy aragüeño pero guaro de corazón, mi mama nació en el Estado Yaracuy pero se crio en esta gran ciudad, este pueblo, es la casa de la Divina Pastora, en mi familia se tiene gran devoción. Es así, que mi mama lleva su nombre. Pastora González alusivo a esta virgen.
Santa Rosa is a town created by the Capuchins, it is very popular and has a religious tradition, since in its Church with the dedication to Santa Rosa de Lima, today it is the Sanctuary to the Divine Shepherd, this image came from Spain by mistake in In 1740, at the time of taking it to its destination, it had a lot of weight, so they had the task of carrying it, they could not, because of this the settlers interpreted that the will of the virgin was to stay. Likewise, the myth of the priest Macario Yépez is present, who asked this invocation of the Virgin Mary that he be the last victim of cholera (an epidemic that reached Venezuela through sick members of ship crews from Europe) in 1856, it struck Barquisimeto and its urroundings. And so the
priest died.
Santa Rosa es un pueblo creado por los capuchino es muy popular y con tradición religiosa, ya que en su Iglesia con la advocación a Santa Rosa de Lima, hoy en día es el Santuario a la Divina Pastora, esta imagen llego de España por equivocación en 1740, a la hora de llevarla a su destino tuvo mucho peso, por lo que tuvieron la tarea de cargarla no pudieron, debido a esto los pobladores interpretaron que la voluntad de la virgen era quedarse. Igualmente, está presente el mito del sacerdote Macario Yépez que pidió a esta advocación de la Virgen María que fuera él la última víctima del cólera (epidemia que llegó a Venezuela a través de enfermos miembros de tripulaciones de barcos provenientes de Europa) en 1856 azotaba a Barquisimeto y sus alrededores. Y así paso el sacerdote murió.
Due to the same disease, the inhabitants were desperate and as a last remedy, they decided to take her out in a procession through the streets of Barquisimeto to implore her mercy, which was granted, from that day on, the epidemic ceased. This is why every January 14 there is a massive and fervent procession of the Divina Pastora, this leaves from the Church of Santa Rosa to the Cathedral of Barquisimeto, they walk approximately 12 kilometers, it is considered the second most important in Latin America . This Church is always open and is visited
by large numbers of people.
Por la misma enfermedad los pobladores estaban desesperados y como último remedio, decidieron sacarla en procesión por las calles de Barquisimeto para implorar su misericordia, la cual fue concedida, a partir de ese día, cesó la epidemia. Es por esto que todos los 14 de enero se realiza una procesión multitudinaria y fervorosa, de la Divina Pastora, esta sale desde la Iglesia de Santa Rosa hasta la Catedral de Barquisimeto, recorren caminando aproximadamente 12 kilómetros, es considerada la segunda más importante de
Latinoamérica. Esta Iglesia siempre está abierta y es visitada por gran número de personas.
Additionally, this town contains a main cobblestone street, its Bolívar square is very cozy in it there are several dovecotes, Some days you can enjoy live music, walk and buy crafts in the different kiosks. You can also enjoy the viewpoint where you can see the Monboy Valley.
Adicional este pueblo contiene una calle principal de adoquines, su plaza Bolívar es muy acogedora en ella se encuentran varios palomares, Algunos días se puede disfrutar de música en vivo, pasear y comprar artesanía en los diferentes kioscos. Igualmente se puede disfrutar del mirador donde se observa el valle de monboy.
Traveling to Lara is something that I enjoy a lot, my mother had a tradition to vacation the first days of January to visit the family and attend the procession, she has already been unable to go for two years because she is suffering from Alzheimer's and it is a risk that she attend crowds the good thing is that you still have the memories of your travels.
Viajar a Lara, es algo que disfruto mucho, mi mama tenia por tradición vacacionar los primeros días de enero para visitar a la familia y asistir a la procesión, tiene ya dos años sin poder ir por estar padecer de Alzheimer y es un riesgo que ella asista a multitudes lo bueno es que todavía tiene los recuerdos de sus viajes.
