I'm all about the budget lifestyle and that extends to even my wardrobe. In the past year I've lost a considerable amount of weight which has led to most of my clothes not fitting right anymore. I picked out a few clothes to resize since I currently can't afford new clothes.
First off is this African Ankara print skirt, the very first piece I made on a sewing machine. It was loose on the waist and hips.
From the waist down to the hip area, I sewed in half an inch to make the skirt tighter and then from the hip area down to the hem of the skirt, I took in an inch.
Next is this black corporate skirt gifted to me by a friend that I've never worn because it just isn't my size. I intentionally traveled home without a black skirt so I'd be moved to fix up this one.
I did same reductions as in the first skirt to get a proper fit.
This pants is what I usually wear to lounge at home and it was practically falling off my waist.
I sewed in 1.5 inches on both sides, from the waist to hip area.
Lastly, I did a flip on this pants I thrifted last year. It was originally a wide legged pants but I turned it into straight pants. It still didn't look right to me because of the length so I shortened it.
I measured the inches I wanted to cut out, adding an extra inch to fold in the hem.
I ironed the folded hem neatly and then sewed it.
Here's the outcome...
Thanks for reading
This is amazing, you did a great job, everything turned out fitting nicely.
I have found a bunch of clothes in my mom's closet and also had to do some adjustments, now some of those pieces are my favorite to wear. :)
Thank you!
Mums have the best style. I'm sure the adjusted pieces look great on you.
Thanks
I didn't read the whole thing, but nice ass...
