Greetings my dear hivers. Today I join the @bluemist initiative to give our opinion on the problems that revolve around the state of entitlement in the rewards obtained on hive, and most importantly propose solutions. You can consult the publication here and it refers to a very interesting topic, in which we all can participate.
It must be remembered that there are no contracts and much less obligations for curators to vote for whoever considers its content to be of quality.
We are the users who perhaps have felt the right to be rewarded for all the publications we make; However, since there is no duty of curators to give us an "upvote", the state of entitlement in this context loses its essence, it being convenient to clarify that our only right is to publish on the platform, and that right is certainly not violated.
Some users do not agree with their rewards, this seems unfair, it is a true feeling and actually there are a few. I have also felt dissatisfied sometimes, I think this is very normal from the point of view of human nature, and more when the money factor is involved. What does not seem right to me is to hold the curator responsible for my dissatisfaction, when there are no obligations from anyone to cure the content that I publish and no state of entitlement is being violated because it simply does not exist.
In my case, I used to read posts from important communities and check the posts they valued to get some idea of their likes. We know that the exclusive curation criteria are original content, not plagiarism, not spam, cite the sources of the images, if they are unpublished pictures much better, but beyond that, there is a world of uncertainty, which only through trial and error can we decipher.
Actually, the manual curation will always be subjective, because what one person likes may not be liked by another and our dilemma begins here, when we do not get rewards from a post, which is of quality according to us but perhaps it is not for others, or it simply was not visualized.
How to solve this problem of supposed state of entitlement?
Scenario 1: I have no power to change anything on Hive. I can only change "myself"
When I cannot change my environment, I invest in myself, what can I change to improve my situation? I would like to comment on 5 key aspects that have helped me to stay calm and not feel frustration when I am not get "upvote".
1- Don't compare yourself with others
Comparing is something we have all fallen into, and obviously our competitiveness and avarice are the reason. I have seen how users have grown rapidly, I have also seen that others have ups and downs. On the other hand, I have seen that creators of striking audiovisual content have a special place on this platform. Remember that human beings are mostly visual. For my part, I recognize that I must improve this part, I am good at writing but I use simple images and sometimes that is undervalued because the first thing you see is the impact of the images and not the text; however I am not obsessed with it, I know that it is an aspect that I must improve.
2- Curators cannot cure all posts
You can't expect all but all of your posts to be valued. Riches are limited. Understand that you are not the only person who publishes and everyone at some point also deserves the opportunity to get "upvote".
3- Curators are not omnipotent or omnipresent
We require curators to vote for the best publications, but they are people who also have a life of their own, they sleep, eat, and it is impossible for them to read all the posts. There will always be a better post than another, be cured or not. Curators really have a difficult job, sitting for long hours reading, selecting publications and we do not know the pressures or conditions to which they are subjected. If we do not have a good understanding of the situation, we should not judge them.
4- The principle of opportunity "Just in time"
This principle concerns when you post. Maybe you published in the morning and strong curators visualized you, perhaps you published in the afternoon and the curators of the whales were not connected, further considering that the curators do not vote for posts with a long publication time, your possibilities of visualization get down.
5- Striving will always be a good decision
Make it worth your time, your seniority on the platform. As time passes we should evolve. If we strive to make quality posts, we will have a better chance, so if they see us, we will be valued. What good is it that they see us but the content does not like?, in this case we would not be appreciated either. That is, it is not only about being persistent but about creating quality content.
6- It's a matter of luck
Although I read the book called "Success does not come by coincidence", I am convinced that the "luck" factor plays a role. We must not take these things personally, we certainly question ourselves and want to do our best and that is what we must do, improve every day, strive, keep learning and definitely the rest is left to the "luck".
7- Enjoy your publications
This aspect should be the first. There is nothing better than doing what you like. I think that Hive.Blog is not for all kind of people, and that is why many who have entered have defected. You must like to write, publish and be interested in learning the minimum you need to know about how the platform works. If you give feedback you can grow in communities that share the same content that you like, grow professionally and also make friends. So if you really like Hive, not getting the expected rewards , will not be an obstacle to continue, but the reason why you will look for a way to increase them, and that will be fine, as long as you do not take anyone ahead.
Scenario 2: I have the power to change some aspects on Hive
On the other hand, I would find it interesting that a survey be carried out to measure whether the majority of users think that there are bad habits or unfair criteria in the evaluation of their publications. Starting from a measurement would give us numbers.
I do not know if you will lynch me for the things that occur to me, I have not really been in deep water inside the platform, but in any case, I dare to make the following proposals:
1- Standardize minimum requirements to publish by community, such as, for example, the content is original, there is no plagiarism, accepted themes, minimum number of words, minimum number of images, and that compliance with these requirements is manually verified. You have to consider that here there can be no subjectivity because it is simply to verify a checklist of the requirements and all the publications that meet them would enter. When qualifying, the publication by the curator is accepted and when the cut is made in a certain period, which may be one day, proceed to: a) randomly vote by means of an algorithm, and it is simply a matter of probabilities that dictate our luck, or b) give an equal vote to all prequalified publications.
2- The Curator's work is not independent, so there is a jury of at least 3 people, which provides greater formality. For this it would be necessary to establish periods of time, of at least 1 day. I am sure this alternative will not be practical to the curators.
What do I prefer?
If you ask me what I prefer, I would rather continue as we are, I do not think it is possible to achieve a balance in which everyone is happy. As long as manual curation exists, we will have a more humane and higher quality social network, the existence of bad habits or dissatisfied people will continue to be part of the day to day.
You definitely can't make everyone happy, but what I do feel responsible for, is my well-being, and by working myself, I can avoid frustrations and fully understand that sometimes we lose, but we also gain a lot and as long as we keep working with effort and dedication, and without wasting time to judge others, we will be a healthy bee in this honeycomb we call Hive.

Saludos mis queridos hivers. Hoy uniendome a la iniciativa de @bluemist en dar nuestra opinión sobre los problemas que giran en torno al estado de derecho en las recompensas obtenidas en hive y lo más importante proponer soluciones. La publicación la puedes consultar acá y refiere a un tema muy interesante, en la que todos podemos participar.
Hay que recordar que no hay contratos y mucho menos obligaciones por parte de los curadores en votar a quien considere que su contenido sea de calidad.
Somos los usuarios que quizás nos hemos sentido con el derecho de ser recompensados por todas las publicaciones que realizamos; sin embargo al no existir el deber de los curadores en darnos "upvote", pierde esencia el estado de derecho en ese contexto, siendo conveniente aclarar que nuestro único derecho es publicar en la plataforma, y ese derecho ciertamente no es vulnerado.
Que algunos usuarios no están de acuerdo con sus recompensas, que le parecen injustas, es cierto y en realidad son unos cuantos. Yo también en oportunidades me he sentido inconforme, creo que desde el punto de vista de la naturaleza humana, esto es muy normal y más cuando el factor dinero está de por medio. Lo que no me parece bien es hacer responsable al curador de mi inconformidad, cuando no hay obligaciones de nadie por curar el contenido que publico y no se está quebrantando ningún estado de derecho porque simplemente no existe.
En mi caso, me dedicaba a leer posts de comunidades importantes y revisaba las publicaciones que valoraban para tener alguna idea de sus gustos. Sabemos que los criterios de curación exclusivos son contenido original, no plagiarismo, no spam, citar las fuentes de las imágenes, si son fotografías inéditas mucho mejor, pero más allá de eso, hay un mundo de incertidumbre, que solo a través de ensayo y error podemos ir descifrando.
Lo cierto es que la curaduría manual siempre será subjetiva, porque lo que le gusta a una persona quizás no le guste a otra y aquí es en donde empieza nuestro dilema cuando no obtenemos recompensas de un post, que según nosotros es de calidad pero que quizás para otros no lo es, o simplemente no fué visualizado.
¿Cómo resolver este problema de supuesto estado de derecho?
Escenario 1: No tengo poder para cambiar nada en Hive. Solo puedo cambiar "Yo"
Cuando no puedo cambiar mi entorno, invierto en mi, ¿qué puedo cambiar yo para mejorar mi situación?. Quisiera comentar sobre 5 aspectos claves, que me han ayudado a mantenerme tranquila y no sentir frustración cuando no me votan.
1- No te compares
Compararse es algo en que todos hemos caído, y obviamente nuestra competitividad y avaricia, nos llevan a eso. He visto como usuarios han crecido rapidamente, también he visto que otros tienen altos y bajos. Por otro lado, he visto que los creadores de contenido audiovisual llamativo, tienen un lugar especial en esta plataforma. Recordemos que los seres humanos son en su mayoría visuales. Yo por mi parte reconozco que debo mejorar esta parte, lo mío es escribir con un maquetado muy sencillo y en ocasiones eso es infravalorado porque lo primero que se ve es el impacto de las imágenes y no del texto; sin embargo no me obsesiono con eso, sé que es un aspecto que debo mejorar.
2- Los curadores no pueden curar todas las publicaciones
No puedes pretender que todas pero todas tus publicaciones sean valoradas. Las riquezas son limitadas. Entiende que no eres la única persona que publica y todos en algún momento merecen también la oportunidad de ser votados.
3- Los curadores no son omnipotentes ni omnipresentes
Le exigimos a los curadores que voten las mejores publicaciones, pero ellos son personas que también tienen una vida propia, duermen, comen, y es imposible que lean todos los posts. Siempre habrá un mejor post que otro, lo curen o no. Los curadores tienen realmente un trabajo difícil, estando sentados largas horas leyendo, seleccionando publicaciones y desconocemos las presiones ó condiciones a las que son sometidos. Si no conocemos con fundamento la situación no deberíamos juzgarlos.
4- El principio de oportunidad "Just in time"
Este principio tiene que ver con el momento en qué publicas. Tal véz publicaste en la mañana y te visualizaron fuertes curadores, quizás publicaste en la tarde y no estaban conectados los curadores de las ballenas, y considerando que los curadores no votan posts con mucho tiempo de publicación, pues se anulan tus posibilidades de visualización con los más poderosos.
5- Esforzarse siempre será una buena decisión
Haz que valga la pena, tu antiguedad en la plataforma. En la medida que transcurre el tiempo deberíamos ir evolucionando. Si nos esforzamos en realizar posts de calidad, tendremos más posibilidades de que si nos ven, seamos valorados. De qué sirve que nos vean pero el contenido no agrade, en este caso tampoco seríamos apreciados Es decir, no solo se trata de ser constantes sino de crear contenido de calidad.
6- Es cuestión de suerte
Aún cuando leí un libro que se llama "El éxito no llega por casualidad", estoy convencida que el factor "suerte" influye. No hay que tomarse estas cosas de manera personal, ciertamente nos cuestionamos y queremos hacerlo lo mejor posible y eso es lo que debemos hacer, mejorar cada día, esforzarnos, seguir aprendiendo y definitivamente lo demás se lo dejamos a la suerte.
7- Disfruta tus publicaciones
Este aspecto debería ser el primero. No hay nada mejor que hacer lo que te gusta. Pienso que Hive.Blog no es para todo tipo de persona, y será por eso que muchos que han entrado han desertado. Debe gustarte escribir, publicar y estar interesado en aprender lo mínimo que necesitas saber sobre el funcionamiento de la plataforma. Si haces feedback puedes crecer en comunidades que compartan los mismos contenidos que te gustan, crecer profesionalmente y también hacer amigos. Así que si realmente te gusta Hive, el no obtener las recompensas esperadas, no serán un obstáculo para seguir, sino el motivo por el cual buscarás la manera de incrementarlas, y eso estará bien, mientras no te lleves a nadie por delante.
Escenario 2: Tengo poder de cambiar algunos aspectos en Hive
Por otro lado, me parecería interesante que se realice una encuesta para medir si la mayoría de los usuarios piensan que hay muchos vicios o criterios injustos en la valoración de sus publicaciones. Partir de una medición nos daría números.
No se si me lincharán por las cosas que se me ocurren, realmente no he estado metida en aguas profundas dentro de la plataforma, pero en todo caso, me atrevo a realizar las siguientes propuestas:
1- Estandarizar unos requisitos mínimos para publicar por comunidad, cómo por ejemplo, que el contenido sea original, que no haya plagio, temáticas aceptadas, número mínimo de palabras, cantidad mínima de imágenes, y que se verifique manualmente el cumplimiento de estos requisitos. Hay que considerar que aqui no puede haber subjetividad porque simplemente es verificar un checklist de los requisitos y entrarían todas las publicaciones que los cumplan. Al calificar se acepta la publicación por parte de curador y cuando se realice el corte en un período determinado, que puede ser un día, se procede a: a) realizar las votaciones al azar por medio de un algoritmo, y simplemente sea un asunto de probabilidades el que dicte nuestra suerte, ó b) dar un voto equitativo a todas las publicaciones precalificadas.
2- Que el trabajo del curador no sea independiente sino que exista un jurado por lo menos de 3 personas, que proporcione mayor formalidad. Para esto sería necesario establecer períodos de tiempo, de por lo menos 1 día. Estoy segura que a los curadores esta alternativa no les parecerá práctica.
¿Qué prefiero?
Si me preguntan qué prefiero, preferiría seguir como estamos, no creo que sea posible conseguir un equilibrio en el que todos sean felices. Mientras exista la curación manual tendremos una red social más humana y con mayor calidad, el que existan vicios o personas inconformes, seguirá siendo parte del día a día.
Definitivamente no se puede hacer feliz a todos, pero de lo que si me siento responsable es de mi bienestar, y trabajándome a mí misma, puedo evitar las frustraciones y comprender plenamente que a veces perdemos, pero también ganamos bastante y mientras sigamos trabajando con esfuerzo y dedicación, y no malgastemos el tiempo, juzgando a los demás, seremos una abeja sana en este panal que llamamos Hive.

Hola Xandra! Me parece muy bien tus puntos de vistas descritos en en ésta iniciativa de @bluemist, como decimos popularmente, "cada cabeza es un mundo".
Siempre he pensado que todo esfuerzo trae buenos resultados y quizás más tarde me dedique a postear sobre ésta iniciativa. Como dices, algunas personas tendrán más suerte y mejores condiciones que otras en el camino pero, no retroceder es una de las leyes del éxito.
Siempre debemos preguntarnos: Por qué estoy en hive? Esto nos dará muchas respuestas. Se que hay muchas cosas injustas aquí pero nada es perfecto, la idea es que con el tiempo todo se vaya corrigiendo si el punto de vista crítico tiene por lo menos algo de sentido común.

Me parecieron excelentes tus planteamientos, todas las publicaciones que he tenido el gusto de visitar hasta aportan planteamientos saludables ante la situación.
Ciertamente, de entrada, tal estado de derecho no existe, no más allá de sólo creer que lo tenemos por naturaleza humana, pero no porque se nos haya otorgado.
Lo cierto es que Hive es un lugar de muchas oportunidades, y bajo el esquema actual lo mejor que podemos hacer, si queremos este lugar, es hacer nuestra parte lo mejor posible y disfrutarlo, el tiempo hará el resto.

The vast majority of 'curators' read nothing. They have their favourites set to auto-vote and then just randomly pick posts to give their upvotes to depending on what time of day they are online and what's just been posted at the time.
The whole issue of curation is a nonsense as barely anyone reads anything here. It's all about making money. The quantity of a post means very little.
