Svegliandomi questa mattina con tutto il paesaggio coperto di ghiaccio, mi sono finalmente accorta che è arrivato il Natale. Il caldo delle ore pomeridiane non faceva sentire ancora l'arrivo dell'inverno e, per questo, il Natale sembrava ancora lontano.
La prima cosa che mi è venuta in mente è il cartone animato della Disney ispirato al libro " Il canto di Natale" di Dickens. Non so come, ma vedo Zio Paperone come l'avaro che pensa solo al denaro e, grazie ai ricordi e ai parenti, riacquista il gusto del Natale. La gioia dei bambini che aprono pacchetti di regali e guardano tavolate di dolciumi.
Successivamente ho avuto un forte desiderio di cercare vecchie foto che mi ricordassero i bei Natali passati.
Waking up this morning with the entire landscape covered in ice, I finally realized that Christmas has arrived. The warmth of the afternoon hours didn't make the arrival of winter feel yet, and because of that, Christmas still seemed far away.
The first thing that came to my mind was the Disney cartoon inspired by the book " A Christmas Carol" by Dickens. I don't know how, but I see Uncle Scrooge as the miser who only thinks about money and, thanks to memories and relatives, regains the taste of Christmas. The joy of children opening packages of presents and looking at tables of candy.
Subsequently, I had a strong desire to look for old photos that would remind me of the good Christmases past.
Le foto che colpiscono sempre di più sono quelle che ritraggono gli alberi di Natale. Luminosi, colorati, imponenti. Facili da realizzare con qualunque oggetto e materiale.

Il Natale prima del Covid... sembra ormai un ricordo lontano, una vita differente da quella attuale. Il buio della mattina, alla fermata dell'autobus prima di iniziare una giornata lavorativa sempre troppo incasinata e improvvisamente la luce. Un albero di Natale fatto di luci che sembra voglia darti il buongiorno, che voglia darti quell'ottimismo che la sveglia ti ha tolto.
Christmas before Covid... seems like a distant memory now, a different life than it is now. The darkness of the morning, at the bus stop before starting a working day always too messy and suddenly the light. A Christmas tree made of lights that seems to want to say good morning, to give you that optimism that the alarm clock has taken away.

Uno degli ultimi Natale in cui si poteva creare momenti di svago durante l'orario lavorativo. Poi, complici i pensionamenti, i cambi di responsabili e alcune regole date dai capi, i pochi momenti di svago sono sempre andati a diminuire e con loro anche le piccole gioie delle festività.
Credo che tutti siano in grado di riconoscere gli oggetti con cui è stato decorato l'albero... lavorando in un CED le sole cose che non ci mancavano mai erano i CD usati. Una battuta scherzosa... un pennarello e uno scarto si è trasformato in una decorazione.
It was one of the last Christmases in which one could create moments of leisure during working hours. Then, due to retirements, changes of managers and some rules given by the bosses, the few moments of leisure have always decreased and with them the little joys of the holidays.
I think everyone is able to recognize the objects with which the tree has been decorated... working in a CED the only things we never lacked were used CDs. A joke...a marker and a scrap turned into a decoration.

Solo chi ha gatti o figli piccoli può capire... con queste categorie in casa è impossibile mettere sull'albero le splendide palline di vetro o di delicata plastica decorata. Per risolvere il problema ho unito l'utile al dilettevole... ho creato decorazioni di vario colore e forma ad uncinetto e le ho messe su un albero di una misura sufficientemente piccola da non seppellire colui che, sicuramente, lo avrebbe usato come strumento di gioco. Ovviamente... come ogni albero che si rispetti, ha decorazioni sempre in crescita e in evoluzione costante.
Only those who have cats or small children can understand ... with these categories in the house is impossible to put on the tree the beautiful glass balls or delicate decorated plastic. To solve the problem I combined the useful with the amusing.... I crocheted decorations of various colors and shapes and put them on a tree small enough not to bury the one who would surely use it as a plaything. Of course...like any self-respecting tree, it has decorations that are always growing and constantly evolving.
Ovviamente ci sono molti altri momenti felici legati al Natale, ci sono anche momenti tristi, ma il passato non deve essere un momento di rimpianto, ma un contenitore di ricordi su cui creare un presente ed un futuro in crescita.
Of course there are many other happy moments related to Christmas, there are also sad moments, but the past should not be a time of regret, but a container of memories on which to create a growing present and future.
