Let's Make a Collage (Round 52) | Centaurs of yesterday and today

Hi friends LMAC Community.

For this round 52, I have worked with the beautiful photograph of @shaka transforming it into a centaur reunion.

Centaurs are a half-man (or woman) and half horse creatures that live in the mountains of Thessaly according to Greek mythology.

To make this collage I added several centaurs that are found in free use libraries on the internet. However, the interesting thing is that my centaurs, even though they are imaginary, are centaurs from this era. Centaurs with shirts, jackets, sweaters, and cameras. Executive centaurs or young people with ideas of success.

My imaginary centaurs share with their ancestors in a prairie. They talk about tradition and modernity.

In the image I created, I modified the sky to express modernity and painted fog to make it fantasy. The rest of the landscape I didn't modify it because the green area favors the collage atmosphere.

I hope you like the idea and the artwork.

For the realization of this collage, I used images from free libraries (below the fonts) and drew freehand in Krita. The image by @shaka is copyrighted

When I look at your collage I think of Midsummer Night's Dream, and the fantastical things that happen on a meadow when reason leaves and imagination takes over. The mist is perfect--a miasma from which creatures may be summoned, or appear unbidden.

A very creative and effective blending of past and present, of real and unreal.

I have not yet learned how to paint or draw (digitaly). I want to make fantasy images but I can't make them look good.
The idea is there... in my head. Modern centaurs that write on computers and are also runway models, hahaha.

This is my frustration! Words work for me. But pictures, I have to borrow other people's pictures and these never express exactly what I want to say. Drawing digitally...that would be wonderful. If you find a nice (free) program that might help, please let me know. Meanwhile you manage very nicely to make beautiful, intelligent collages.

Hello @agmoore. I started my learning with Krita (you can download it from the internet).
I am learning to work with GIMP but my progress is slow.
There is an App for Tablet called Scketches. I don't have a tablet. I have seen watercolor drawings of people who did not know how to paint and they make very charming drawings. If you have a tablet I recommend this app

Thank you! I will surely check them out. It has always been a dream to be able to express myself visually. It's why I think I love the collages, and Gaugan. These give me the experience of creating despite my limited talent. Very kind of you to share that information with me.

I do have a tablet, gift from my daughter. It is my toy. I will have great fun with this, I know. Thank you very much. Drawing, painting, art---another language. I'll have to share what I learn, if this works out.
