Runde 132 ist noch in vollem Gange und ich habe es trotzdem endlich wieder geschafft, meine Collage einen Tag vor Ende der Deadline zu posten. Juhu!!! 💃

About...
This time, it was really quite simple. The inspiration for my collage was suddenly present when I looked at @shaka's beautiful template photo for this LMAC round.
Because at that time it was very warm in my apartment. The thermometer showed almost 40°C. A huge part of the heat came from my computer and I was sitting in the middle of this very stuffy, hot air bubble. Actually, I had a hard time using my overheated brain.
However, my imagination created a new castle from the towers of the castle in the template image. It was the castle of an ice king, reigning in a freezing cold land. And it was as if my mind wanted to find its very own way away from this heat.
I have really never, since I have started hanging around in LMAC, felt working on a collage as refreshing as it was with this one. :-D
Über meine Collage...
Es war dieses Mal wirklich ganz einfach. Die Inspiration für meine Collage war plötzlich da, als ich auf @shakas wunderschönes Vorlagen-Foto zur dieser Runde LMAC schaute.
Denn zu diesem Zeitpunkt war es sehr warm in meiner Wohnung. Das Thermometer maß knapp 40°C. Ein Großteil der Hitze kam dabei aus meinem Rechner und ich saß mitten in dieser sehr stickigen, heißen Luftblase. Eigentlich fiel es mir schwer, mein überhitztes Hirn zu nutzen.
Doch, meine Vorstellungskraft erschuf aus den Türmen des Schlosses aus der Vorlage, ein neues Schloss. Das Schloss eines Eiskönigs, der Herrscher eines eiskalten Landes. Es war als wollte mein Geist einen Ausweg aus dieser Hitze finden.
Noch nie, seit ich bei LMAC rumhänge, fand ich die Arbeit an einer Collage so erfrischend, wie bei dieser. :-D

All die Schnee-Patches, die Eisrampe vor dem Schloss, den Schnee auf den Gebäuden und die Eiskante am Wasser, habe ich selbst gemalt.

What is LMAC?
LMAC is a great community for artists of all skill levels. The name of the community is an abbreviation and stands for "Let's make a collage".
Just take a look. Even if you think you are not an artist, LMAC will probably prove you wrong.

We are currently building our own photo/image library that we can use as a image source for our collages, but also every Hiver beyond LMAC is very welcome to use the images in it.

Freut mich auch, dass dir die LMAC School Rezepte gefallen.
Seh ich auch so. Mit Übung wirst du schneller, aber auch viel flexibler in deinen Entscheidungen darüber, was du umsetzen möchtest.
Ich schau mir seit einiger Zeit oft Werbeplakate an und versuche jene dann in GIMP selbst umzusetzen, die mich am meisten beeindrucken. Einfach zur Übung und aus Interesse.
Manchmal gar nicht so einfach. Bei den Werbefirmen sitzen immerhin hocheffiziente Photoshop-Ninjas.
Aber alleine durch das Experimentieren und das Reverse Engineering, hab ich ne Menge Tricks gelernt, die dann bei eigenen Projekten jederzeit abrufbar sind.
Schon nach dem 4ten oder 5ten nachgebastelten Plakat hatte ich Dinge gelernt, von denen ich nicht einmal gewusst hätte, wie ich sie bei Youtube hätte eingeben sollen, um dort nach einem Tutorial zu suchen.
Vielleicht hilft dir diese Methode ja auch, deinen inneren Werkzeugkasten zu erweitern. Immerhin ist das mit einer Aufgabe verknüpft und bei der Arbeit lernt man ja am Besten.
Und wenn ich mir deine Collagen anschaue, bin ich überzeugt davon, dass du eine steile Lernkurve haben würdest. Die sind ja schon jetzt echt super.
Erst einmal vielen Dank für dein Lob und den Tipp mit der Werbung.
Bei mir mangelt es vermutlich noch etwas an den Grundlagen, bzw. oft auch am Workflow. Aber ja die LMAC School Beiträge helfen sehr, gerade bei diesen Basics wie Layer und Mask etc.
Was mir glaube ich bei dieser ganzen Sache zugute kommt, ist meine Erfahrung aus der Fotografie. So sind Dinge wie Belichtung, Schärfe, Temperatur usw. nicht neu für mich.
Mal schauen wie weit ich meine Fähigkeiten in diesem Bereich noch ausbauen kann :), ich freue mich jedenfalls auf jede Runde, in der ich mitmachen kann.

Your snowshoe runner was a godsend. I needed him not only as a decoration, he was also that key to the entire visual scale of the scene. :-)
This is priceless. How the mind does comfort us, and trick us. You escape through art. I love the bear. I love the coldness of it all.
Have you ever seen the Twilight Zone episode Midnight Sun (YouTube clip here? Two women are in a sweltering apartment. The earth is doomed to move closer to the sun. Except, it's all a fevered dream and the earth is actually freezing and drifting into outer space. Your collage plays reflects your mind playing the reverse trick on you.
Your collage is visceral, and intellectual. Wonderful to look at :)

I was trying to watch the show on Youtube. Unfortunately, the creator banned it from being played in Germany. What a pity. :-/
But I think I have some vague memory fragments of that specific show. I once loved watching this series very much.
Yes, absolutely genius, our brains. Fascinating that it enables us to overlay reality, augment our subjective realities, and even to create entirely new worlds.
To be humble, some people can induce that quite purposefully, where in my case a thermal emergency was necessary or for others earth has to drift into outer space. :-D
A friend of mine is an actress in german TV shows. I once asked her how she manages to cry based on a script.
A second passed, she started crying and with sobs she said, "When I cry, the whole current situation is just sad. The glass I'm holding is sad, you look sad then, everything is just sad then. You see?" ... and smiled again.
Oh, It seems to me I've done the most impossible. xD
