It is no news that when crises cause a lot of people to cry, it provides others with opportunity. A war will kill lots of people and families will lose loved one, but a war will create opportunity for war merchant and a few government individuals. The Covid-19 pandemic for sure would also be a negative news for a few and will be an event of opportunity for another set of people. The pandemic made a lot of people poorer as the economy stood still for months and people lost their jobs, and the rate of unemployment increased drastically but while all these happened, the total amount of world billionaire assets increased to $10T. What happened during the pandemic that created more wealth when so many people were unemployed?
Some billionaires like Elon Musk increased his wealth over 300% from 2019 to 2020, and billionaire Jeff Bezos reached the $200B net worth during the pandemic. While these Billionaires increased their wealth exponentially, some people joined the billionaires club.
Some people became billionaire by investing in medical companies even before the pandemic started. Companies that were in the business of vaccine creation, and other medical tools and service. When the pandemic broke out, the shares of the company which they invested in, grew exponentially and it placed them in the billionaire’s club list. A very god example is Timothy Springer who invested in Moderna Biotech Company.
Companies like ZOOM took advantage of the pandemic very well. Before the pandemic, people didn’t care about video conferencing in fact people preferred to travel and enjoy the luxury of travelling and tourism even while doing business but this things changed immediately the pandemic came and people had to give social distancing. Families, Friends, private and Public companies started using ZOOM and this made ERIC YUAN became a billionaire.
You see, events can be makers and breakers but being able to harness opportunity when it comes can change the entire financial status of a person.

You are right, in the end it all depends on so many things, but something very important is to have the wisdom and creativity to be able to see opportunities where others only see problems.
You are correct, being able to visualize opportunities admits problems makes all the difference.
