A long time back when I just started my journey on Steem (now Hive), there used to be a page view counter for the articles that you have posted on Steemit. Of course it is not the most accurate piece of data, but I thought it was quite useful to help users understand what content performs the best.
I always believe in writing articles that will draw readers from outside the Hive community. This serves 2 purposes. First, it helps to boost traffic to Hive, which in turns boost the value of the platform. Second, every external reader has the potential to be a new user on Hive. However, there isn't a reliable way to determine which article is the most popular.
Today I get to know about this new feature on Peakd.com which provides data on the number of views your articles received. I thought it is quite useful.
To access this tool, simply click on the top-right drop down menu (which shows your username) -> "Tools" -> "Views". Here are my top articles in the past month.

Apparently my top article in terms of views is the one where I compared the various crypto exchanges in Singapore. Perhaps I was able to draw in some non-Hivers to read the article?
Note that if you are using Brave browser, the tool is blocked from loading. I believe it is because it is loading data/scripts from a 3rd party, and is considered a tracker. So you will have to disable the shields in order to view it. To do so, simply click on the lion icon and toggle your shields to "off".

I think this tool is a good start. I hope to see @peakd eventually allow us to track the view counts of our articles on a longer time frame. It will also be nice to start seeing that counter appearing on each of our article.
So what is your most viewed article and do you like this new tool? Leave a comment and let me know.
20% of post rewards goes to @ph-fund and 5% goes to @peakd to support these amazing projects.

The thing with Hive is that your content has many interfaces, peakd and hive.blog, the top ones, but there is also leofinance.io and many others tribe frontends.
I guess we will need some form of aggregator in the future, where a lot of the frontends will be listed and then count the page view from each of them.
Hello there @dalz ! I couldn't agree more, it sometimes feels as if these views counts are underestimating the real number.
In fact, I truly hope so otherwise I have less people reading my blog than I thought hehe
Stay safe,
@vlemon
Kudos to you @culgin !
Especially for the Brave tip as I did not know why it wouldn't work for me and you gave me the solution hehe
Great that it helps!
I think peakd is becoming more sophisticated and these cool new features is something that keeps superising me as well. Well-done for alerting, I'll check this out
Yea, I am also fascinated by how Peakd manages to keep delivering all these improvements so quickly
Wow. I like the tool very much. I'm going to check my most viewed article right.
Peakd is developing very fast. Kudos to the team behind it.
Indeed
Views tool is reall cool. I had no idea about it until now.
I am however, surprised to see that how many people vote content without even seeing it.
Most accounts are following curation trails or autovotes. In addition, I think those who are using browsers that block 3rd party trackers will also not have their views registered
Peakd is bringing new features
hi @culgin actually whenever i share make money article, i get more views. And every month i share minimum 2 article under make money category. And yes love this feature.
I think no one minds making a little bit more money 😉
