Once upon a time

Once upon a time, there was a village which was naturally bestowed with lot of mineral and natural resources and this village was known as Airegin. Airegin is one of the most populated village when compared to all other villages that existed during this period. This was what actually brought about the popularity of Airegin village and this led to the migration of some other villagers from different villages into Airegin. Airegin also had what other villages never had in terms of natural resources and income. The population of Airegin villagers kept increasing drastically due to the large amount of people relocating to Airegin. The king of Airegin named Evol was happy upon seeing his village been developed in terms of population and business such that Airegin became the best village for Agricultural practices and trading.

The popularity and richness of Airegin attracted the attention of some rich people from a city who had to form their own circle called Rickcity circus for the main purpose of buying Airegin to make more money for themselves in order to be in control of the village. They selected a volunteer known as Esima whose mission is to always converse with the king of Airegin (Evol) by convincing him to sell Airegin village to them even though they knew how Evol was highly in love with Airegin village and it’s inhabitants.

The Journey

After some months, Esima left the city in search of Evol the king of Airegin. Esima told Evol about his intention for visiting him from such a far distance from the city. On hearing this, Evol became angry and he requested that Esim should leave his presence (he dosen’t want to sell Airegin). Esim pleaded for the main purpose of completing his mission. Esim then offered Evol a cheque of $100,000,000,000 in case Evol changes his mind about their deal and if he doesn’t he will come back to collect his cheque in the next 5 days.

Evol Decision

Evol looking tired and depressed with different thought running through his mind as regards to either selling Airegin village or not. His wife, the queen of Airegin named Ytinu noticed his husband unstable condition and this made her approached him to ask if anything was wrong. Evol explained everything to his wife and he told her I will never sell Airegin because of my love for the village and it’s people. The queen corroborated with her husband’s decision and she came up with a plan of uniting the people of Airegin and her plan became successful such that every villager from other villages began to see themselves as one. The king and the Queen of Airegin corroborated of returning the huge cheque given to them before the next five days. The king instructed some of his guards to return the cheque back to Esim the cheque was delivered back to Esim as instructed by the king.

Esim had to meet with his fellow colleagues to assemble for another meeting with the hope of coming up with another plan just to get Airegin village. He explained his previous experience with the king and how the huge sum of money was delivered back to him during the group meeting which got everyone astonished. They started thinking about other plan just to get what they want. Someone came up with the idea of ignoring the king and queen but to focus on the people of Airegin and get their attention to get what they want.

The Rickcity group began buying lot of goodies and gifts for the people of Airegin and they started brainwashing them making them feel their king and queen are traitors on the land of Airegin and they deserved to be killed. The people of Airegin were already blindfolded by the little gifts and goodies they received by the Rickcity group which made them believe anything said to them by the people of Rickcity.

The Big Mistake

images (78).jpeg

On a very early morning, the people of Airegin had strategized their plan on executing their king and queen with the aim of selling their lands to Rickcity group. They killed Evol and Ytinu that same morning and they sold their land to Rickcity group at a very cheaper rate after falling for their deceit. The village of Airegin began to be managed and controlled by Rickcity group which generates huge amount of millions for them every month by the slavery work done by the villagers of Airegin and this made the people of Airegin regretted their action due to the intense suffering they’ve been experiencing ever since they killed king Evol and queen Ytinu.

LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE STORY

images (77).jpeg

It is very sad that some people don’t really know how important their culture is which makes them fail to embrace their culture. We actually got brainwashed by westernization making us neglect our culture which has led to the absence of love and unity amongst ourselves. The fact is that we Africans don’t really know how valuable and treasurable our culture is making us neglect its benefit.

The concluding part of the story explained the sufferings the people of Airegin went through after killing king Evol and Queen Ytinu because Evol is spelt “Love” backwards while Ytinu is spelt “Unity” backwards. Love and Unity are the two powerful tools that should never be misplaced as an African because we must always love our culture and we must also be united if truly we belief that our “Culture is our Heritage” and no harm or suffering can befall us if we have these two things, not even a cheque of $100,000,000 can make us abandon our culture.

The unseen treasure of Airegin village was their culture but the villagers of Airegin failed to realize this fact because they were blindfolded and deceived by the people of Richcity who made them kill their king and queen before taking away their precious gold (culture). The fact is that some people are now claiming to be civilized or modern such that they are already carried away by outsiders because they don’t know the value of what they have. Some Africans don’t even have a single dress that portrays they belong to a certain culture even in their manners or way of life because they just want to be like other people who don’t embrace their culture. It’s time every Africans start embracing their culture and stop being shy or timid to show off their precious treasure because our culture is our treasure.

As an African, never be shy or timid to embrace your culture anywhere you find yourself and you should always remember that “Our Culture is our Heritage”.
