As my friend says. Teach how to fish, is not easy but we can all learn.

Teach how to fish

It is common to give a bad interpretation to certain actions, although I believe that there is something that is: everyone interprets things in their own way or convenience. Talking about the human being and all his capacities to convince and manipulate in some situation to others, it is necessary to have clear the meaning of things and the security to speak to others being able to differentiate for example when help you do it teaching or being part of the problem.

Along the way, there are many people asking for help, and you can help them, yes, but by teaching them how they can improve their situation by explaining to them what to do so they can get on their feet, without confusing that it is not doing the work for them it is teaching them how to work. Here's the thing, how many really want to just receive help (a gift), or how many are willing to learn how to get what they want for themselves.

There is a lot of comfort in some people, and what they understand by help is that you give them things as gifts; then when somehow you give them ideas of some work or how you could get things, they misunderstand you and see you as a bad being without feelings and they put God and crucify you because you are not "good". And is it really hard to understand that teaching you is also a way to help you not only to have things one day but for every day.

Well, this is my life motto, helping people but teaching. Many will understand it and others will not, but I feel personal satisfaction in helping in this way.

That is why I very much share a Chinese proverb that says:

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach him to fish and you feed him for the rest of his life."

Even as a father I teach my daughters how to get things, from a very young age I have explained to them the value of money, but above all the value of work. Because I worry and take care of "being a good father" and not "just a father who is good to give away" because between these two phrases there is a big difference, I still insist is my way of thinking and not why I aspire to share my opinion, particularly when I touch this point about being a dad because I am clear that everyone raises as he believes and wants, so I take care of my daughters without pretending to influence the upbringing of others.

Thanks for visiting, I appreciate your opinion.

"In constant evolution".

To that Chinese proverb I will add a Japanese proverb that says "Nothing in life is worth learning if it cannot be taught".
Exactly as you say, there are people for whom life is better by asking without working. I know many who make necessity a form of work.

I think it is always best to teach people how to do things themselves, this way a strong way is taken off our neck as they become independent enough to do things their own way.

Hi dear friend @lanzjoseg
I have no doubt that you are an excellent father, how lucky your daughters are to have you and I agree with you that it is better to teach people to earn a living than to give them help that will end, although there is much that they do not understand that

It is such a great proverb and teaching is such a gift. I never tire of helping people who are willing to learn.

Great inspiring post my friend @lanzjoseg - have a glass of !wine on me.

Yes that's a great post enjoy and take care of your time in this lifetime sometimes you can be doing stuff and teach other people how to do stuff but you may not know that they even know that you taught them but that's okay

Wow... I have heard this saying many times before, but it always feels refreshing to hear it again. After all, I have kids myself, and it is so much "easier" to just give them things, but in the end... they are way better off actually learning to acquire things themselves :) Thanks for this great article!

what you say is a great truth about "teaching to fish", personally I like to share what I know and I do not mind teaching what is difficult is that people do not understand that achievement is a mixture of perseverance and learning, like many I know that I live in Venezuela which is a country that faces many difficulties and my family does not escape that reality from my heart I want to help them to improve their situation but they simply do not want to learn, either because they do not see what I can see or because for them the path is another, no matter how much I want to teach "the person must want to learn" if the person does not want to learn everything will be a failure.
