Radiation imperceptible to our eyes/ useful tools applied in the technology field_III

in Project HOPE3 years ago
Greetings dear friends of this prestigious platform, especially to all the members of the @Project-hope community, as usual we will continue to search our environment for any kind of learning extracted from our wonderful environment in order to apply it in any tool or device created by man.

Introduction

We continue in the search of the essential utility of each one of the electromagnetic radiations imperceptible to our eyes, but, in spite of it of great applications in important fields of our development, where, without a doubt we find the wonderful field or area of the technology, until now we have analyzed in a very general way to the ultraviolet light, microwaves, infrared light and in this opportunity we will relate with the X-rays.

This type of radiation was first detected by the renowned German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen in 1895, these radiations differ from the previous ones (ultraviolet light, infrared, microwaves) in their wavelength, for example, X-rays, have shorter wavelength, and thus, greater energy capacity, this type of radiation belongs to the dangerous family of ionizing radiation, and this makes us have to be extremely careful when exposing our body to these rays.

There are many applications that we could find of these powerful X-rays, in the area of technology and one of them certainly in the area of medicine, and the same, are called medical X-rays, this important application we can see below in the following figure 1.

Figure 1. X-ray radiographs

Figure_1.JPG

Undoubtedly, any of us have performed this type of X-ray with the purpose of showing the inside of our body and know the normal functioning of the same, it is important that we can know the spectral fraction corresponding to these energetic radiations and their place in the essential electromagnetic spectrum, therefore, let's observe the following figure 2.

Figure 2. X-ray spectral fraction

With the identification of this spectral fraction we continue localizing and thus highlighting the great usefulness of the different radiations that are imperceptible to our natural optical systems (eyes).

Conclusion

We have had the enormous capacity to be able to use any type of energy of both natural and artificial origin to our advantage in most cases, although some of them have the capacity to ionize when in contact with any type of matter, as is the case of X-rays, but by regulating our exposure to them we can use them appropriately.

There are many applications in different areas of our development, where we can find the energetic X-rays, and undoubtedly the X-rays is the clearest example of the most notable application through the technological field to medicine and thus to our health.

Until another opportunity my dear and valued readers.

A lot can be done with x-rays,but I think the drawback is the radiation it can bring. I agree that if we can regulate radiation exposure, application is boundless.

Hi @juecoree.

It is important to always keep in mind our exposure towards these electromagnetic radiations such as X-rays due to their ionization capacity.

excellent post dear friend, a very detailed and accurate explanation of the subject.

Hi @yongleantonio.

Electromagnetic radiations have always been present among us and will always be present among us, hence the importance of being able to know them as well as possible.
