Demian Maia UFC Panini Prizm Card 2021

in Trading Cards!2 years ago

Now this is a pretty legendary card of a legendary fighter.

Demian Maia has pretty much accomplished everything you can imagine in the sport of MMA except becoming Champion. He has been a pro since 2001! He's competed in the UFC since 2007 and has fought a lot of well known names over the years. He's beaten plenty of them as well.

Maia is known to have a heavy jiu-jitsu style of fighting. He's notorious for it really. Fighters know that Maia is going to try to strangle them, but it doesn't matter much of the time. Maia just needs to snag a limb, and he pulls you in like a black hole. There haven't been many guys that can do it like him in MMA, he's one of a kind in that regard. Maia is a 5th degree blackbelt in jiu-jitsu. I don't commonly hear many people having degrees higher than 3rd. Maia has countless Gold, Silver and Bronze medals from various Jiu-Jitsu World Championships, from 1999-2007.

Maia has fought 39 times as a pro, achieving a 28-11 record, and 22-11 in the UFC. Maia's list of victims is truly outstanding. He is one hundred percent a Hall of Famer!

Maia has defeated the following fighters throughout his prolific career:

  • Chael Sonnen
  • Dong Hyun Kim
  • Jon Fitch
  • Neil Magny
  • Gunnar Nelson
  • Matt Brown
  • Carlos Condit
  • Jorge Masvidal
  • Ben Askren

Maia is a well liked, high level fighter that has really become a common name in the sport of MMA. He has been in the cage with legends like Anderson Silva, Chris Weidman, Tyron Woodley, Colby Covington, Rory MacDonald, Gilbert Burns and Kamaru Usman. Maia has absolutely made his mark on this sport and will go down in history as one of the best to ever do it. I'm very glad to own this card! I like how it stands out with the reflective green theme.

Demian Maia seems to actually have semi-retired from MMA and so this may be the last UFC card of Maia that will be released! Wow, I feel even more lucky to own this one! Crazy! It seems that Maia wants to fight just once more before he officially retires. He plans on competing in Jiu-Jitsu still though, which is cool.
