Respect goes a long way in life. #500wordsaday

You know the saying. You give respect to get respect.

Unfortunately some people have no respect in life. No respect for people and no respect for people’s property. We have seen this a lot in over the past month or two.

The next generation coming up behind me that has an imaginary sense of entitlement, thinking that they deserve everything without putting anything in.
They don't seem to realise that you get out of life what you put into it. If you put toxicity and negativity into your life then it is inevitable that you will be surrounded by negative and toxic people.

I have seen more toxic videos in the past month than in the rest of my life. I know the abundance of video phones has brought more of these into our view but in reality it’s the behaviour that has gotten worse.

People fighting and screaming over the most irrelevant things.

Yes there is racism in the world. Yes it needs to be stood up against but screaming and shouting into the faces of police isn’t going to get you there. Fighting your fellow countrymen in the streets isn’t going to get you there. Rioting and looting certainly isn’t going to create a less hostile and less racist environment.

That will only happen through talking, understanding and respect.

In any argument there will be two sides that both think that they are totally and unequivocally right and that the other side is terrible and entirely wrong. In anything that I have seen lately there is a complete and utter lack of respect for diversity of opinion and diversity of experience.

We all have different cultures and different opinions. Those shape how we see the world and can make two people looking at the exact same situation, view it in totally different ways due to their personality and experience.

Usually the solution to the argument lies somewhere in the middle if people are willing to both listen, understand and respect the other side’s view. Nobody is ever entirely right or entirely wrong. They are a product of their life to this point. If you want them to change their opinion it won’t be through pushing against them but instead it will be through showing them another option that is a better option.

It all starts with respect for others.

Respect their diversity.

Respect their opinion.

Respect their choices.

Respect their property.

And above all respect yourself. You are entitled to all of the things above as well so don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t have an opinion, thought, choice or anything else that you want because of your race, religion, lifestyle choices or opinions.

Unfortunately some people will never think this way but those are the toxic people that you should avoid in your life. Don’t engage, don’t get dragged down by their toxicity. Just leave them to rant alone into the void as we grow and enjoy our lives instead of spending that time in misery.

Truer words have never been so eloquently spoken.
Well....they may have but I agree with you one hundred percent anyway!

Words spoken with a little common sense tend to ring true with a lot of people. It's a very underrated quality in life I feel.

Glad you enjoyed and agreed with it.
