A Circular Walk on the Longshaw Estate, Derbyshire

We had a walk on the Longshaw Estate that is in the beautiful Peak District in Derbyshire, UK.

It's a favourite place for local people to have a leisurely stroll or go for longer walks over the moors. In the summer, it's a great place to have a picnic.

Today, we just had a small circular walk. It was quite overcast and it felt as though winter had returned for the day.

On the estate, there are a mix of cattle and sheep that keep the grass down. There are also red deer on Longshaw and the areas that surround the estate.

The estate is very child friendly with walks that are solely aimed at children. It gets them interested in walking, exploring the area and there are nature quizzes too.

The pile of dirt is actually an ant's nest. Apparently, on the estate they tend to get northern hairy wood ants, which I've never heard of before.

Who's the King of the Castle?

What a beautiful location, you must have enjoyed your walk with your beautiful fur baby...

I must be very fit with all the walking I do, but I eat too many desserts. 🍨 🙂
